One nice thing about the crypts is that a basic antler pickaxe works as well as any other on the mud piles, so you can build a workbench right by the door for quick and easy repairs as needed. Upgrade your pickaxe, and ideally bring 2 so you can get all the iron in a sunken crypt in one go. If I remember you should get 30 -60 iron per crypt.

And do i need to have that key to open them ? Some swamps have one or two crypts others have many. Just look for another swamp.
Yes you do. Well worth the effort. You need a lot of iron.

Hi PyrateLV. Thanks for respond. Well i did that already and after i smelted that it wasn't much. The problem is that i can't find any more. Should i travel somewhere far far away ( all i can build now is a raft ) ar maybe dig blindly ? idk ?
Did you use the pick on the debris piles (every little piece) and the blocked doorways in the crypts? I dont think I ever found less than about 60 to 120 iron in each crypt I went to.

Trust me there are more crypts with iron than you think. You may need to explore the neigboring islands, but I'd bet you have at least 10-20 crypts within a 5 minute karve/longboat ride from your base.

Sunken Crypts in the Swamps. Have to have a Swamp Key to open them. Get it from The Elder (2nd Boss)

I got my first iron by digging patterns of trenches at the edge of the swamp, but be warned that this is a VERY labor-intensive way of getting what usually turns out to be only three or four pieces of iron per find -- and the finds are rare. Iron is the main resource choke point in the game. You'll have to find a large swamp with a number of sunken crypts before you can get a workable quantity of iron. On the other hand, once you do find the crypts, they can have a lot of iron in them -- I think my record was 121 pieces, and I doubt if that was the maximum.

If you're up to the swamps then you should be able to build a Karve.
I'm assuming you mined some tin and copper and made some bronze bars at the very least. You'll also need to have chopped down some birch trees to get fine wood which requires a bronze axe unless you want to play with a troll and try to get it to hit some birch trees for you.
If you're going anywhere other than coastal I would suggest building a Karve as the bare minimum. Once you get enough iron look to building a long boat.

You need the swamp key to open the crypts that you find.
It sounds like you need to find another swamp biome if you've run out of crypts in this one. As I said above to go exploring you would be wise to build a Karve at the very least. I'm not able to get in the game to check but from memory you need bronze nails, fine wood, resin and deer hide to build the Karve.

( all i can build now is a raft )
Take some bronze bars to your forge and make nails to discover a better boat.
