Def rare, killed so many and only ever received one as a drop from them.

Totems are either plentiful or scarce. But I would say they are the hardest and most unreliable boss summon item to get at the moment, especially if your looking at resummoning a few times.

If you use the valheim world seed generator website, you can see that totems tend to be sparsely spread out across the various plains biomes on a map. Some maps have lots others have not as much. Its just really rng. As for it intentionally being a challenge or not, I'd say for now yes.

Once Mistlands is done, they may make totems more common to change the progression but that's just speculation on my part.

Combination of bad RNG and no way to reliably seek out mob drops. There also aren't any plains dungeons, so it can take a ton of land coverage to find enough totems.

Bad RNG I guess, so far I found totems in every stone building or village I've entered.
