Levelling with a hoe lowers the ground too much
I've been trying to make a dock and have surrounded my area with stone foundation. While standing on the stone and using the level it would make the ground lower than the stone somewhere between 1/4 and 1/2 the height of the stone block. I used stone to raise the ground above the stone and flattened it back down but it still went to 1/4 to 1/2 the height of the stone block.
Is there some bug that the stone does not allow you to flatten to it's level? Has anyone run into something similar?

I believe it is leveling to the dirt where you are standing and ignores the stone block. Like if you were standing in a doorway that is slightly raised and wanted the ground to meet the door it doesn't work.

Instead of standing on the stone block, have you tried raising the terrain by standing at the correct elevation nearby? Set it to match a few meters away and start from there. You'd have to eyeball it some, and then make adjustments.

Is that how leveling works? It depends on the ground itself no matter what block is below?
Edit: Ok just tried it out that's exactly what it was. Leveling does not go off where you are standing unless you are on natural terrain.
