Wind Waker/ Swift Sail

Is there a wind waker or some other way to control the direction of the wind in the game?

Is all of this implemented in the game?

It sure feels like it! A broad reach in-game does definitely feel the fastest. However, the only thing that's missing from the sailboats is a boom, to go *boom* when it smacks Viking's heads while tacking or jibing. :MHRISE_Felyne:

I personally jibe in-game whenever I have a tailwind but I want to have some fun and get to my destination a little faster :lunar2019piginablanket:

ALso, beware of 45*angle cross winds during an a ocean Storm.... in multiplayer, that max speed weird ♥♥♥♥ can happen, along with ship damage

There is a mod, I think it's called 'wind fix' or similar, that always puts the wind at your back when you sail. Makes sailing much more betterer.

I saw that earlier, it seems a bit "cheaty" to me though. I'd like someone to make a wind waker mod.

Sailing in Valheim is so very much like sailing in real life, one must tack slightly into the wind much of the time to get to ones destination. Simply zig-zag back and forth occasionally making 90 to 160 degree turns. Surprisingly once I figured this out sailing was a breeze ...

Yes, kill one of the bosses for his power, but it only lasts a while.
