it's been so long since i enjoyed this game. we were so young and spry, fresh lungs ready to breathe in that new air of adventure, sailing on the sea, yearning for discovery. i'm a different man than i was then, i've become estranged from everyone i once knew. my dog died, my wife left me. i lost my home. by the time the mistlands finally comes out i will be an old decrepit man with nothing to my name and a life that has passed me by.

I suspect that the developers would like nothing more than giving us all of the content updates today if they could but I suspect that they have an advisory board that is pushing for platform growth to increase and diversify sales. It's not a bad policy. That being said, I also can see some symptoms of what mathematicians call the NP trap where a solution may be completed in polynomial time while an ideal solution requires non-polynomial a.k.a. exponential time. Our heroes at Iron Gate seem very professional and I would respect their desire to make a very polished product. As long as their investors are willing to underwrite the development it will take what it takes.

Seeing how the game released with a year road-map of updates I didn't plan on waiting this long. Especially when Hearth and Home got released early on and at the time it was a good update. People who make mods have already added Mist Lands, other biomes and more. The devs can do whatever they want of course but it should be okay to give out some criticism

In addition to the other two biomes that we know of, there will also be the bits and bobs between and of course the game ending. That's a lot of work ahead and another three years would be an optimistic estimate. Why would it be too long?

To be fair, the game was worth the money from the first year, even without the 'promises'.

I for one truly hate liars and people with no integrity, but since I actually enjoyed the game, I'd say it's money well spent. At this rate, they'll eat crow and I am a satisfied customer.

Game is well worth it to me... I would feel like a spoiled brat to complain I didn't get enough for my money.

That said I expect no one that is complaining now to be happy with anything they get. Expectations are interstellar in scope and that is all due to people just wanting more of a great game.

In terms of "OMG I have to start a new world and it's too much work...blah blah" I am already past 30 worlds so starting over is nothing. But why start over when I have so many of my worlds to choose from to continue?

The longer they take the more worlds I will have to play in. Just adds to the worth to me.

It's easy to burn yourself out on a game before all the content is released. Sometimes it's better to just wait.

we are but cash cows. They are not working on the game as you know it.

Yes, I would like it if the game was completed eventualy but when I consider that it only cost US$20 and it has been way more fun than a night out at the movies with a large popcorn I feel I've gotten my money's worth.

Oh boy, the mods WILL remove this. Anything critical is deleted. I agree with you, but this won't be up long.

How long did you honestly expect to wait?
Many games take several years to successfully leave EA... why should this one be any different?

I'm hoping for the best with mythlands, but expecting to be as disappointed as I was with H&H.

i think that 2 years is long enough for early access and they should have been able to achieve most of the original roadmap goals by then, but clearly this is going to be 5+ years in early access if they still plan on adding the 2 biomes after mistlands, and that is just way too long

On top of that, modders have added leaps and bounds of content in a few months. For what the devs are putting out, if H&H is anything to go by, it will be very underwhelming and disappointing for a nearly 2 year wait.
