3 Cheers to the Devs!
Unloading of unused assets is working great. No more hitch in play every 10 minutes. Game truly running smooth as silk. Thanks for finally fixing that really annoying issue.

Man, and here I am playing comfortably at 10 fps; This patch was very helpful for my hamster-powered potato.

If you use an Nvidia card, don't listen to the tools that say "Vulkan is for AMD". They are, quite literally, ignorant. It's supported by all major GPU brands and whether it works better or not will depend on the individual game's implementation. Valheim has done a very good job. So try it in that mode if you haven't already and it's not performing 'great'.

Oh, I've tried Vulkan a few times and the results were all over the place; I've managed to find a few more favourable tweaks with the Nvidia control panel since then that have collectively helped, so maybe I'll try Vulkan again tomorrow, I know Vulkan works like a dream when I want to run Swords 'n Magic and Stuff.
Honestly though, I'm still thriving quite well at 10 FPS, it was the dropping to 5-6 or so that was really causing me issues; this latest patch has resolved some of that quite handily.

@Foxglovez, my 2060 performs the same, capped at 100. All the settings maxed (except AA and DoF, which I have off...because I hate them).
I was pleasantly surprised at just how phenomenal the game performs, especially considering it's still EA. I have not had a single hickup, hitch, stutter or other fps issue of any kind so far with about 90 hours of playtime.

My 1080, capped at 70, fps never changes, even in snowstorms, the swamp, lightning storms, or in any of my large fairly complicated bases, or anywhere else for that matter. Your mileage may vary. But in fact my results are just that and don't reflect on anyone else's performance, nor frankly do I care. I could say I care, but that would indeed be disingenuous.

can agree with this. you now only see a message when you go sleep and sleep takes like 5 seconds longer due to that. but thats really it. good fix.

It's nice, but to say the game runs smooth as silk is disingenuous. It's a bit choppy even on 5900X and 3090 in the swamp for some reason (Even tho FPS show solid 100+) or near a big base. The latter of which is totally understandable though.
Putting particle lights to low helps a ton though, and makes almost no visible impact to the game. IN particular, if you have lights in the mountain/snow. 40 fps to 140FPS just by that change lmao.
