Building with 4m beams question. How do you get the diagonal beam in place?

So normally building with the basic 2m beams you make a right angle and add a support at 45 deg. This does not work with the 4m beams as the diagonal is to long.
How do you over come this? |
Context is bridge building... so I want to build as far horizontally as possible.

Structurally I don't think you can do anything that'll make a difference here, any single angled beam will only be attaching two pieces that were already linked anyway. You could extend horizontal support by embedding iron beams and just using core wood for aesthetics.

The way integrity works in this game makes diagonal core wood beams purely aesthetic.
