Low FPS -

Hello, I recently upgraded from an HP prebuilt to a PC that i built, i am running an I5 9600K with RX550 4GB GPU, 16GB 3200. My HP was ryzen 3 2200 with same GPU and lower freq RAM, i expected the jump in CPU speed to show some jump in FPS for Valheim, however it seems to be the same or worse? I run CSGO and paladins at 120-150 FPS, i tried 7D2D on high settings and it was pulling around 30 FPS but felt good how it was running. Valheim on high settings is only running 12-15 FPS and on low with details off it only runs around 20. I know i didnt build a top end rig but this doesn't seem right. i have done many things i have seen online, the fullscreen, the GFX script. GPU and windows are up to date and running DX 12 ( F12.0) any thoughts? Thanks in advance!

I think the 1060ti is the next step above what I have for nvidia. Wouldn’t a software/os issues impact all games though? 7 days definitely runs better than my old computer Paladins and counter strike hard to say. 100-150 feels about the same. I’ll try foliage I turned off about half of the options can’t recall what ones. Any other ideas?

I have exactly the same CPU, and same RAM frequency. My GPU is RTX 3070.
I have no clue how good your GPU is(I'm not an AMD/ATI guy), but I assume it is not much worse than my gtx1080?
Your FPS should be around 70. In no way it can perform as bad as 12 fps.

I also have 7dtd running(almost) maxed out at ~50-70fps in worst cases and around 110fps in calm scenes.

I'm suspecting you have some odd issues with your software/OS/drivers.

Tried to look at it, but I don't think I can understand that language.

Sadly they just lock these types of threads. I'll still stand by what i said, there is something wrong with this patch. Dropping a whole 40+ frames is just absurd. You can blame the rig but it was just fine before.

the gpu almost doesnt matter in valheim, this game leads to people usually being cpu capped. it might not be what you expect after your upgrade but this game is not optimised
and 15-30 fps sounds about right if you are in an area where you built or terraformed a bunch.

1920x1080 60 fps

Foliage on lowest
shadows lowest
Render distance max
bloom and DOF off

Stays a fairly solid 60
With settings on maxed I was getting a lot of FPS drops... playable but not really fluid or fun.
Foliage seemed to be the biggest hit for me.

GTX 1070
I 5 3.5Ghz
16 gig ram
