No more ugly pixelated characters?
Looking at the update images, it looks like character creation has improved with no more horribly pixelated butt-ugly characters. Or is that a lie?

... it was a jokeThe internet never lies.
Oh? So where is Half Life 3? Starcraft Ghost? Or Project Milo, with that interactive human? The internet all said that those were going to happen and would come out and be awesome... yet... we've never seen any of them.

I love the graphics just the way it is. It has this charm, and the game is incredibly immersive for me. Looking at the update images, it looks like character creation has improved with no more horribly pixelated butt-ugly characters. Or is that a lie?

The art style is still the same. Nothing has changed about the characters.

Go play some korean MMO if you want beautiful characters with baby-smooth faces. ;)
Valheim's charm lies in it's low-poly, low-res graphics yet it can still create amazing vistas and screenshots even without any reshades or mods (I can wholeheartedly say that Valheim looks much, much better than Skyrim (even SE), which was supposed to be AAA game made by an experienced studio). But feel free to play with graphical mods if you prefer (it's completely fine to dislike some aspects of any game but still enjoy it overall).

It's also completely fine to dislike some aspects and hate the game overall. Skyrim was made when again? Sounds like you're trying to sell me a toyota.

Take from the official website's FAQ.
"The visuals of Valheim look kind of old, what’s up with that?"
"We have chosen a stylised graphical look that blends low-resolution textures and sparse polygonal detail with modern materials, lighting and post effects. The visuals are inspired by the early days of 3D graphics, like the style seen in PS1 titles and old DOS-era 3D games (before hardware acceleration and texture filtering was a thing)."
