Saw the Test Branch patch notes.
Personally I don't like the idea of the "They sought you out" event now not being able to trigger in the Meadows. I like the base-defense like aspect of the random events, even if it ends up in some of my buildings taking damage and since one's main base tends to be setup in the Meadows since it's your starting area, I find it a shame that the most threatening of events won't happen there. I'd think reducing the chance of that event happening from the random event pool would be a better option then completely blocking it out from the Meadows.

Have you had the event before? I haven't, but I heard it was just melting anything not made out of granite...doesn't sound like fun to have your base that you spent 40 hours building get nuked before you can even get out there to fight.

a lot of people are builders who do not like base defense or fighting at all. This caters to them.
Build in the plains or mistlands, and all bets are off.

I have had it, in my grasslands base no less. I took the fight to them, and it was REALLY hard, but because my base was a cluster of small buildings, they ignored the structures and came at me.
If I was in the back end of a longhouse or a castle? I would have been rebuilding for hours because of how fast they chew through terrain.
Oh, and a side note, seekers can now (as of the public test patch) change direction with their fly attack, and stay airborne much longer, so earth walls and moats will do nothing at all to stop them.
