I destroyed Haldor's fire...

Just what I said. I accidentally destroyed the fire that Haldor stands next to and now his camp is a little dark and sad. The magic aura won't allow me to build him a new one. Is there any way I can get it to respawn or something?

On a related note I just found Haldor's camp and was digging a moat around it to build a medium portal connected base.
I had thought the shield would stop anything but players from passing through but that appears wrong. A dwarf ran through it to get to me on the opposite side. When I walk into the shield area any mobs that had been coming for me act as if I never existed. Am I seeing this right?
The other thing more related to the op's issue concerns the moat I was digging. Before I saw the dwarf run through the shield I had intended to just dig a 'C' shaped moat with the open side up against the shield. As I neared the shield edge with the moat it seemed that I was able to dig inside the shield. I immediately stopped and came here to consult with the forum denizens. My concern is related to accidental destruction of the ground below the camp and messing up future trades. I know ground removal has some goofy mechanics in Valheim like floating chunks of ore, etc.

if you dupe a seed you can dupe all items in the world technically

In vanilla this is correct.

With Valheim+ you can turn off his magical aura that stops you and probably get things looking like they did. Not sure if you want mods in your game.

Oh you mean those mods through a pay gate? No ty. I'd rather play the real game.

We have 26 mods on our server and haven't paid for a single one...you shouldn't be paying for them, donate if you want...but mods (including Valheim+) are free.

Edit: The game is real nice, I like it a lot. I only use V+ for Quality of Life adjustments :)

depending on when the last world save happened, you could restore the world state by deleting the current world files and remove the '.old' file name extension from the backup files.

but i assume i'm too late here and you played already further.
Unfortunately yes. But I may try Draconifors' bpnfire suggestion.

Would be nice if Haldor's fire was indestructible like all of his goods are.
This is a good suggestion, thanks!
