do cheats or commands still work?
I'm new to valheim and find it quite difficult at times and would like to spice things up by building something awesome... anyhow i have looked up how to use the commands and have tried to use the F5 commands and idk if its just my laptop but all my F5 dose is turn my keyboard lights on and off ... can anyone help me out :)

You'll need to type -consol in the launch options to enable it. rightclick Valheim>properties >launch options.

Your laptop should have an "Fn" key that you can press with F5 to make it actually input F5, otherwise usually it'll do the behavior you described (i.e. a laptop-specific function).
Remember that you also need to add "-console" to the launch commands for the game in your Steam Library.
