My situation, fells the opposite than what OP experiences, before update was incredible difficult to find, now first swamp filled with crypts, insane. Maybe it's RNG, if it is shouldn't be that extreme.

My new World seems to have all resources and Crypts buffed.

not in the least, the two closest BFs and Swamps in my most recent save are littered with them. both locations are within a 2-3 minute hike. i think world gen just hit you up with some bad rng.

You need to find a decently large swamp for them to spawn in. You can try the Valheim world generator to see where they spawn at. https://valheim-map.world/

I've had very good luck with finding burial crypts in the forest so far. Haven't gotten into the swamps yet. Work and solo mode are kicking my progression.

Well if it's possible to compare your seed before and prior to the update on a map generator site than you'd have your answer.

It's bad RNG. It's actually pretty rare to find two swamps in a row that are absolutely empty. Most are packed

nah the map me and a friend generated, if we didnt go far out sure some of the nearby swamps had maybe 3-5 crypts and then that was it, but a little further out there were swamps that had uncountable numbers by comparison.

our very 1st game when this game launched to EA had 0 crypts on our 1st swamp, so sounds normal to me!
