Dev commands are nothing new. They have to test the code as the write it somehow and to do that without playing for hours at a time to create certain circumstances they need dev commands to create shortcuts and scenarios to test. You have only yourself to blame for cheating if you can't help but use them.

depends on what the player is about to do with devcommands
in terms of creativity i can be an awesome tool (depends on self control)

op, how you come across this information ?

i can understand some frustration without code, ive spent way too many hours trying to find a single 2 star wolf and shaved off an entire biome of trees whilst hunting that one 2 star wolf for taming

ive collected an enormous storage full of wolf meat, wolf trophies, furr, wood, teeth and etc..
but not one single 2 star wolf yet, sadly a larger portion of the game is like this

instead of immersion and incentive for replayability trying to captivate the player to come back to previous biomes then theres nothing more than "you want this fish or that seed/feed/sneed ?" you come back! but if not ? you go to mistlanderino and become borederino

but i still havent used the console at all and im still somewhat enjoying myself and would be satisfying to finally catch that 2 star but whilst the game is void of an immersive approach for capturing/hunting 2 star beasts or the replayability purposes in coming back to previously explored biomes ? the stage of this game is really helping most players cope with the console even though most people just seem to cheat to avoid a challenge and grind completely

hopefully theyll stop prioritising new biomes after ashlands and surt to focus on replayability to avoid having dead islands you never come back to

I have not seen a new game with cheat codes in decades...

You either play solo or on your own server. The game is either yours or hosted by your friend. No one cares how you decide to play your own private game. (Except for those who like to feel superior to others.)

So, the answer to your question is "yes."

There are a lot of juicy mods out there too for those who want more customization.
