Valheim 2 in Unreal Engine 5

It might sounds crazy, but imagine if the future would bring: Valheim 2; - in Unreal Engine 5. Could it be a reality, could the team behind Valheim make it?

why are so many people obsessed with UE5 when it's literally nothing special other than some development tools that make development easier for those who are STARTING a NEW project.

porting an existing game to a new engine is a hassle and a half and brings more bad than good.

it also will make it so that 90% of the people who got the game originally won't be able to play it due to the specs having to change.

UE5 requires a MINIMUM of a RTX 3070.

do you guys all have that?

According to the Unreal Engine 5 Specifications[docs.unrealengine.com], you only need a GPU compatible with DX11 or DX12.
DX11 was released in 2009, so any GPU from 2010 onward should be able to run the basic UE5 engine. Real performances will of course depend on the game itself and the GPU considered.

No, you don't need a RTX 3070 to run a UE5 game.

to run UE5 is what i was talking about.

the devs don't even have those gpus what makes you think they're going to upgrade?

iron gate consists of 5 people total, there is zero reason for them to upgrade especially with the fact that YES all games that upgrade will have to also upgrade their min specs.

this is what satisfactory will be doing in S8, they are upgrading and they have stated that a lot of people who used to play the game, will likely have to update their gpus to continue to play the game.

and to clarify once more: early access games often change their minimum specs, which is what satisfactory is doing as i've already said, but valheim will likely have to change their specs massively in comparison if they were to upgrade the engine.

not to mention it has already been said, but the pixelated look of valheim doesn't actually need any of the eye candy that UE5 would bring.

Someone get the devs to sell them the code then reskin everything in Ancient Japanese skins and go with the Samurai in the afterlife. I'll put a few thousand hours into a game with that theme and same mechanics. Then take them both to the UE5 engine. :D

Why would the game need a sequel?

We don't even know what the final version of Valheim is going to be like, yet (and this is not a criticism).

I don't think there's much incentive to change to a completely new engine re-writing the entire application. Not to mention they would pay 5% on all revenue to Epic. Unity is about $2k per year per developer that needs to use it.

Plus I don't think they would take advantage of Unreal 5 as they purposely are making the game with lower pixel graphics.

At the rate they're making this game, I say they should shoot for the next engine release instead.
