how is it that a lot of people overcame this or have not seen the swamp as an issue at all, but you can't find a solution to your own problem other than giving up?

I might come back once I calm down a bit but Im afraid I might not be able to recover my gear its a long way in. I hate the swamp so much.

hehe i think you will come back. i am sure a lot of people experienced what you are dealing with right now, but there is a way to overcome it (i forgot how i got myself adapted to the swamp after many failures).

also playing with friends are always nice to have help when in situations like that

yeah maybe this is the point where I need to accept that I gotta slow down playing solo or get with some other people.

Is it potions? I think I need to make some stuff to heal me when I get poisoned.

get antidote it reduces posion dmg by like 80%

I just posted this in another thread but I'll post it here too.

Take your time! Don't dash off into the swamp.

Build a base within sight of a swamp, then hover around and watch.

The creatures spawn in the same places (they do wander from there).

Use a bow and snipe them till they are gone, they take awhile to respawn.
When they are gone move into their area and plop down a workbench. That will stop them from spawning there and then you can feel safer moving into the area and then repeat.

Don't splash around in the water as that attracts the leeches.They can't get you if you are not in the water, so use the hoe to spread the land over the water and make a nice path to follow. Place a standing torch here and there to mark your paths.

Watch out for blobs as they can hop pretty far and be on you quick.
Keep your eyes open at all times and specially behind you.

Bronze Mace and Max Bronze gear and poisen res flasks if its to hard

OP strikes me as awfully wise. Kudos to you sir. ^^

I frequently yell out loud at this game at the absurd ridiculous situations.

Sometimes too many enemy spawn points in an area will significantly hinder your progress making you spend an entire day fighting them vs. progressing! (bad spawn timers / locations / amounts of enemies).

I played through first time without cheating at all, then learned cheats and used them to learn how to build better. Months later now I feel like I've mastered the game and am starting over with nothing on a fresh server and toon just to experience the game again.

And even now I still get frustrated at just how coincidentally annoying the enemies are. Greydwarves spawn like there's a portal 10 feet away... nonstop. I've SEEN them randomly appear just turning 360 for a few seconds to watch everything around me. I guess the dev's want us to keep building workbenches every 20 feet everywhere we go until no enemies can spawn anymore. :/ The latest patch has only made things more annoying. Enemies will run away from me to attack my base when I'm right there fighting them!

In any case, i think I get pissed more than most at games' shortcomings, Days Gone included, but I come back after cooling down because I know I can overcome the challenge. Take a break, take a breath, smoke a bowl, stretch, come back later fresh-minded.

Also, playing with good people can really make things easier, I'd recommend finding a friendly server to join and maybe experiencing the game in another way.
