Community Moderation & Information

This is a trainwreck. It's on the community managers and moderators to manage expectations and to be an interface between the community and the developers.

Locking threads, not answering specific questions, banning when repeatedly asked the same unanswered question... this is not the fault of your CUSTOMERS. This is poor community interfacing, poor moderation, and poor customer service.

Improve. This is pathetic.

Go ahead and lock this and ban me, I'm sure that'll solve your problems. Maybe give me more than 4 days this time.

You seem to be suggesting steam moderators are somehow employed by the developers to manage and facilitate PR. As far as I am aware these positions are voluntary and they are really tied more to steam and their forums as opposed to the game or the developer. I don't think the steam moderators really have any more information about the game development, plans, etc than the standard person they are just more aware of what's been said by the developers here or on other official channels from the developer.

Honestly if you want to communicate directly with the Devs I would recommend Twitter or on their Discord. The moderators here are just trying to keep the forums manageable and not have 25 different posts ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ about the same thing. The developers have said in multiple places (including here) that Mistlands will release in 2022 yet we multiple people asking about it every day.

If the devs choose not to answer questions there is really nothing they can do about it. My guess is the questions you think are unanswered are really answered and you just don't like the answer.

Locking threads: shutting down threads that aren't constructive is moderation. It gives actually useful threads a chance to be seen.
Not answering specific questions: The questions were answered, often dozens of times before, likely even before being asked because a FAQ exists. They're just not the answers you want.
Banning when asking the same question: So the question has already been answered, and you keep asking it. That's spamming, and against the forum rules.

You complain about moderation literally because you're being moderated. Have some self-awareness.

They should, and it would. It's the moderation you're begging for.

I'm not defending OP, he is breaching Steam's TOS and will probably be banned (again). However, i'm really annoyed with reading same threads every day and if someone can do something about it, that are moderators. I'm following developers everywhere and I know a lot about development people here are not aware of. Answers should be brought to the people to stop everyday spam. Banning people and locking threads will not help.
My suggestion is to make a pinned thread named "Everything you must know about Mistlands" and fill that thread with links to developers twitter acc, facebook acc, YT channel, discord, etc. That will for sure help people looking for answers.

FAQ is great to find some answers, i am aware of it… but let’s be honest, there are no news on development process and people are coming here already pissed off and they will for sure not read FAQ. However, a pinned thread with Mistlands in its name could catch their eye and answer their questions.
