I needed to fix it; now the roof's good again and I can relax :)

If you want to dismantle it, try building ladders to reach higher. If my memory serves, you can put 3 of them up with no supports, so it's nice and easy. Good luck!

Honestly, I'd say try and live with it until you start getting lots of excess Iron, and then rebuild from scratch once you can build a house frame using Wood Iron poles.

I'm still trying to figure out the logistics of converting my home base into using black marble and wood iron, but the whole place has been more or less built in chunks that has given me quite a lot of guff trying to sort out.
