Thank you for listening and adding Armor Stands!
I know they are not in the game yet but should be coming before the end of the year.
Thank you, thank you, thank you!
Stuff like this is what keeps people playing the game. Next inventory management overhaul. Maybe a quiver or some sort of backpack! That would probably be the next most requested thing on the "list'. I don't like using mods and for those of who don't inventory management is a mess! But you can fix it up with creative things like quivers or backpacks etc instead of just adding more slots.

I do not understand the "inefficiency" argument. That pee missed the cornflakes entirely and made a puddle on the floor which never had time to marvel that its world was just flat enough to hold it in perfectly poised surface tension before it was stepped in and tracked all over the place, thus ending the fallacy.*
If you don't care about fancy building, then you can just ignore this piece and go on with what you do care about; you don't need to invent an objective reason for doing so: that you don't like it is sufficient.
As to efficiency, it is easy to create huge halls in Valheim and store every bit of armor starting with your leather rags in any way that you enjoy.
*apologies to Douglas Adams

I already built an armory months ago with that hope that armor stands were going to be added eventually. Very excited to take those old armor pieces out of my chests and put them on display, regardless of how wasteful of my virtual resources grampa Scrooge over here thinks these things are.

I like the way you word things here, it's very humorous. But yeah, an Armor Stand obviously isn't the most /efficient/ way of storing your armor and weapons, but it's certainly a lot cooler than just stowing your outdated gear sets in a chest somewhere to mold. Let me put it like this: An armor stand will probably not occupy the same kind of space as a stack of chests. For example, it's very easy to work an armor stand or two into your bedroom, your smithing area, or even into the windows of your shops or homes. You would probably not display a chest of armor quite as proudly as a model that shows off that +3 silver armor you worked so hard for! Besides, who doesn't want to dress up a mannequin with all of the coolest and newest viking fashions? Sure your friend might have picked the more efficient car, but I'll bet you they would have gotten so many more chicks with the more expensive car. I don't want to pee in anyone's cornflakes. (That is an expression we used in the Army to warn someone that you were about to pee in their cornflakes.)
But an armor stand is very inefficient in terms of space required. In the space occupied by two armor stands, I could build a tiered rack of three chests. Two armor stands, two four piece sets of armor. Three chests, seven four piece sets of armor with two inventory slots left over.
Sure an armor stand looks cool. In 1969, my college roommate could have bought a Plymouth Roadrunner. It looked really cool with the fake hood scoop, the fancy racing stripe, and the cartoon Roadrunner decal. Instead he bought a Plymouth Sport Satellite. Same car, same engine, same drive train but without all the cool cosmetics. His auto insurance was half of what he would have paid if he bought the Roadrunner.
Some will argue that including an armor stand represents a diversion of resources better spent on fleshing out the remaining biomes. Again, I don't want to pee in anyone's cornflakes but I think that is incorrect. Too many cooks can spoil the broth. Having one of them baking bread sticks can make the meal.
As for armor stands taking away development time from other features, I say meh. Not everyone on the team is working on the same thing at the same time. The Biome developer is probably not the same person as the Item developer, and so on. I understand it is a relatively small team but these things are all planned out and work is divided evenly, so as far as I'm concerned, I don't really see how it COULD slow down the pace of a more major update. It's as you say, having cooks work on different dishes helps to balance out a Square Meal rather than idly diluting the broth, as it were.

I don't mind pissing in your flakes. Armor stands were probably one of the top 5 most requested items for a reason. I love efficiency but I also love organizing things and things looking good.
The building community is what will keep this game going. Not the "efficiency" or PVE people.

Consider our flakes pissed in...know what you mean, but it's great to get updates on a game that the devs are committed to. Besides, I don't think this is all they are working on if their previous road maps are being adhered to.

Yea I created a huge hallway with a trophy hall on the left and an Armory on the right and now I will be able to balance that out perfectly.
Also great just for having extra armor at certain spots that you can quickly change into or a Wardrobe type room.

They already posted a video on the official Valheim twitter. It's just decoration not a new boss or anything lol

You can make a armour stand in a none modded game, just a few blocks of wood and some item stands, hey presto a armour stand... but adding one is not gonna hurt, so hey all is good :)

not like the ones shown in the video. You can only currently put up some helmets and not even all of them. And none of the armors or cloaks.
