We tamed our first boars last night with raspberries.

Boar panic reasons:

Fire nearby. Any fire, cooking, forge, kiln, torchs, lamps etc.

Predators nearby. Even standing outside a wall. Leeches in swamp swimming near, wolves near, draugr.. shamans, etc..

Flooding.. if your base is low down or next to coast, the rising of the sea can flood the taming area and panic the boars.

You. Go into stealth, if they can't see you, it's fine. If they can.. they panic.

Foods: Raspberries preferred. Red Mushrooms, Blueberries, Flax? Barley? haven't checked last 2. They do not eat Yellow Mushrooms. If boar go hungry for too long, they can also panic.

Alucard,my base is next to it and he cannot see me, but is still the same, I am about 20 yards away and still nothing

If they are too close to a fire (walls don't block the effect) they'll stay in a panic. I did this more than a few times at first - I'm not sure if every flame type does this. I also set things up so they have no line of sight of my player by using the solid fence to make the taming pen and toss a dozen or so berries, mushrooms or carrots in and leave them alone but stay in the vicinity. I'll definitely sleep when I can to make the taming time seem shorter.

any light sources will frighten them, remove any campfires or standing torches.

i use a stake wall pen to block line of sight

While technically accurate, its also somewhat wrong. If you place certain faux light sources, boars don't care. Using item stands, swamp keys, stone golem trophies (love these, pretty bright, but also pretty large), yellow shrooms, even frost resist meads.

Carrots was just a thing right after the patch, they already fixed it.

you cant be too far away for a start. if it can see you or potential threats it will stay panicked. Are you able to display a screenshot?

likely a patch to keep you from having any fun.

but try this...throw any rooted food- berries (any) or mushrooms. run a good distance away (I probably run half a mini map or so. go back but keep your distance they'll tame if you're nearby but not too close

i'd post links to boar breeding tips but the fun police at iron gate would spoil the fun.
