Seriously, what's with all this blocking malarkey? Go naked (in case of repeated death)with whatever weapon you want, find a troll and learn the timing. The window of evasion is pretty big.

It may seem a bit cheesy but one thing i like to do is before entering the cave i enter stealth mode then sneak in and get off as many shot with bow as i can then exit. Once outside ill crouch into stealth again and wait for the eye to close then go back in and hit a few more. Ill repeat the process till their dead.

The game is all about cheese tactics. Just get your bow, sneak, walk through, and shoot a couple times and exit. Repeat until dead.

Dodge it ! Right before the trunk smashes the ground, roll on the ground to avoid the hit. You need to find the right timing, give it a try and soon you'll find trolls fight casual to do :)

I have one tactic: Raise tower shield -> advance.. well and having at least two HP foods eaten, to decrease the odds I get staggered ;)

Trolls are actually very easy to parry with a shield (banded or bronze or better). A trolls swing is broadcast because it is so slow, make sure not to raise the shield to early or it will just block, raise it as the trolls broadcasts it strike (begins its swing), and you will stunlock it every time. While stunlocked one can deliver at least 2 blows, or one very damaging secondary attack. I guarantee you, you will be surprised at how easy it is to parry and stunlock a troll. I have not died to a troll or multiple trolls since my young nephew showed me how to parry their attacks with shield. As a previous post said, it is a good idea to crouch when entering and sneak up behind the troll for your first blow to do more damage.

You can only really effectively parry them if you have a really nice shield and armor, but you can roll to dodge their attacks at any level due to it providing some invincibility for a moment mid roll, not super easy but doable with practice.

Alternatively kite em with bow, still works even in quarters as tight as those caves.

Always try to get the 1st shot in sneak mode and the damage is bigger.

To parry a log troll you need a bronze buckler lvl 3 , with less you will be wrecked

It is tight but it is still enough room to kite with a bow. Go clockwise or counter, and decide for yourself when you need to swap direction. If getting past it seems sketchy get ready to time a roll.
If you are not used to rolling, you just got to train yourself to hit block+jump in one single motion. You can sneak+jump instead but it is probably just a little jankier to do in the middle of the action.

Of course do as much preparation as you think is necessary to prevent running into stamina problems.

Even easier way.. sneak in and throw a spear at him. Run in and pick it up while he's staggered and start stabbing. Time it right and he'll stagger again before he can swing, and you can kill him without even getting attacked.
