Depends how much experience you have on RPG and action games... After having played games like Prince of Persia, Ninja Gaiden, Elder Scrolls etc.. and some popular MMOs, yeah all the mechanics and boss patterns were easily manageable even solo (we went as couple with my wife tho) but if this is one of your first games of such genre and are considered newbie level, there is a long way ahead of you young padawan, but fear not, you will become a master in due time.

first of all, that was my experience too, because i have fighted with low equip. Do not do that for all other bosses.
And do not rush and have a nice day in Valheim otherwise it will a boring game. :-)

No death means
1. No skill loss

You lose five percent of your skill progress each time you die.

2. Not having to do a corpse run or lose gear.

So while you don't get a reward as such you can avoid punishment.

But frankly, unless you look stuff up on youtube or have friends telling you stuff you should expect to die a lot the first time through. So it isn't like death is shameful either. Just part of the learning experience.

Build a wooden platform an arrows shot away from the Bosses spawn point, trigger the Boss and run back and climb on the platform, Boss will stand still and you can quickly kill him with your Bow and Arrows.

Yes and no, the only reward is bragging rights I guess, and it is possible what it likely means is that Forge recognizes how to kite the AI.
The way I kited the 1st boss was around fallen trees and the summoning altar while shooting it with an upgraded crude bow. On my newest attempt a fully upgraded flint knife and wooden tower shield worked fine, armor was basic un-leveled leather(no cape), with the food being Deer Meat, Boar Meat, and Mushroom.

One of the great things about Valheim is that there is no normal. Everybody can either take their time to train up for bosses or go for it when they have minimal skills and gear. Or somewhere in between. Play to suit your own style.

Perfectly fine.

My first run with the deer-lord was a twenty minute slog that I nearly lost a few times. Second time around, I did it about two minutes without breaking a sweat.

First, don't build you base next to boss spawn points. Second, highly recommend you build yourself a bow.

i have a bow to hunt the deers, but it was kinda a good thing my home was kinda near the first boss because my camp fire did damage to him as well lol

yeah after awhile the bosses movements became predictable, only had 3 attacks it did, 2 of them i could just dodge roll and the other i just ran backwards lol

For the next time try crafting a bow and and about 80 wood arrows and just blast him from afar. Don't forget to make a little mini lean-to and a bed nearby for added ease.
