The steps required to play this game in multiplayer

Same thing as Raft where you can't play with randoms across their own hosted servers as in the forest but you need to start by going into a discord and awaiting someone to register you then when you enter the server you can die to someone else while you try to complete the game because they are stronger. Also you can't discover the passwords of the dedicated servers if they don't have a discord.

Why these games have complicated ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ like like this? I'm thinking of refunding just because their own discord prohibits people from inviting others to their own worlds. What a bunch of ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ when your own friends don't play the game.

Technically, it's not complicated at all.... It's not a "random join" type of game, but it's quite easy to go to the "LFG" sub-forum and just ask to join.... PLENTY of people also looking for players to join their server.

That's the way it works. Valheim is NOT a MMO. Stop thinking of it like one. It's meant for small groups for co-op or individual players for solo-ing.

The game has framework that allows people create dedicated servers so they can have a world where their friends can log in at any time rather than waiting for a specific person to be online or because they want a more populated world, or both. It costs THEM time and money to set that up. As such, it's their rules. Don't like it? Too bad.

Again, the game is not a MMO.

As has been suggested, create a server with the password in the title and you'll quickly understand why most lock their private servers down.

Go play Rust, Ark, World of Warcraft, Guild Wars2 or Sea of Thieves if you want the "I want to play against random people" experience.

So, reading between the lines... You are upset that you cannot randomly join a players' server, and that you have to actually chat with the owner in order to get permission and receive the password... Is that about right?

There is a "Looking for Group" sub-forum (to the right of main forums), where there is literally over 6,000 posts of players looking to play coop.

"you can die to someone else while you try to complete the game because they are stronger."

^^^ This isn't even true because, by default every player is immune from taking damage from other players... YOU would actually have to toggle "ON" the friendly-fire tab in order to take any damage from other players, and the other player would have to do the same to take any damage from you.

This isn't "RUST"... You can't simply drop into someone's game.

This game is a SOLO and/or "coop with friends" type of game OR "coop with permission", and that means you have to go to "Looking for Group" sub-forum, and make contact there, if you want to play with other people.

It's call trust is earned... This is the same with any game that a person could randomly join and potentially do damage it is there to protect the already existing community. I do this with ARK, Conan exiles and 7D2D I don't want some rando joining with possible hacks or something and ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ everything up.. I hope you understand the point here that we are trying to make.

Put the password in your server's name, let any randos in to run amok for a week, and find out exactly why servers require passwords.

Sometimes the safest thing in life is to play solo. And if you're going to play with others then get to know them and what they're into first, so that everyone agrees what's happening.
