Ruining world generation before new areas: How close is too close?
So does anyone have any experience with a rough estimate on how close you can get to new (Undeveloped) areas before you start to "Generate" them and thus ruin them (At least those chunks) for the next biome update?

this is the fully zoomed out map showing where i explored after ML patch so you can obviously then see what was explored before ML patch
https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2939730446
this is zoomed in to the north to outline the "corrupted" mistlands size and the next picture shows it closer so you can really get a good idea how much area is "corrupted"
https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2939730956
As you can see i explored full heartedly and I am still inundated with enough "uncorrupted" ML to loot and remake everything ML has to offer 3 or 4 times over, maybe more!
and as you can also see I have had a little look at the north and ashlands but in comparison there is still heaps more to explore once they are patched in so I am in now way worried about bad generation for the small bit of spots I have explored

There is a mod to reload the lands. and it leaves your structures alone..mostly. I had a little ground change but nothing bad.
I have used the mod for the mountain biome, and now the mistlands. In my main world save with no problems.

I have a perfect example on my original map I play. It has retained old mistlands, and some random hybrids, so it is roughly 2 times radius fog of war that gets removed by player. When I get a chance I'll take a screen shot of my map that outlines the explored area pre patch and where new mistlands starts undisturbed

If the distance is the distance at which Haldor pops, I probably screwed up a little bit of ashlands, lol.
Everyone who has revealed/unlocked the biome text has done that, but whether it matters at all is hard to say... This is just me, but I kinda doubt they are going to change the placeholder landscape as much as they changed it for mistlands.
Might run into some suddenly cut off lava flows maybe.
It's not the Heightmap which matters (Which will update regardless of how close you were) but structures, features and resources which won't generate. So Like Rocks, Dungeons, resource nodes, etc.
What will generate is Mob spawners though, which is why "Corrupted" mistlands make for excellent bunny farming areas. No mist, nowhere to hide.

If you uncover map in unexplored area, you're already too close to not influence potential world generation updates. It's best to be very conservative with that. But I doubt they are going to add that much stuff to the currently existing biomes at this point.
Haldor's appearance on the map before you have explored his surroundings is the best example of it.

If it's at the distince which trees become visible, I'm probably okay.
I was exploring the very south west of the Mistlands "ring" when I noticed some far LOD terrain that didn't match any other biome, now i've been to the ashlands before in a much earlier build, and it looked like that, plus given the location.
I definitely wasn't close enough to show it on the map, there is no "Red" visible. But I also have a feeling that it was still too close.
Does anyone know the Distance at which you "Reveal" the shroud on the map, in game zones? Is it 3x3, 5x5, there's no way it 9x9. (It looks like 3x3 to me)

That makes sense. If true then it's the distance at which trees pop in but not other stuff yet. Probably what the wiki describes as "generated zones".

I read 500m somewhere once. I don't know for sure, but it's larger than the map reveal.
