Ya I play solo as well at times and I my ship was gone last night, well I seen the wood floating and stuff, I always crash land mine on shore then break it down myself, but I was not even in the area so that means a few dwarves and the old animals will attack it I guess, Hope you worked this out, but ya its wonky at times

It might be that a mob destroyed your ship while you were elsewhere, it happened to me once, or the portal might have gotten destroyed on one end. Also for the saves, what they are saying is true. What I do is save to cloud, exit the game, launch game then save to local file, exit game, then relaunch game and save it back to cloud, so at least you will always have a up-to-date local save that is the same as the cloud.

You can find the local saves as follows: C drive-user admin-AppDaa-LocalLow-Iron Gate-Valheim. Then you will find 2 folders, one called "characters_local" and "Worlds_local."

I zipp the files of both to secure them.

For the character, you are looking for your character's name followed by a ".fch". DO NOT DO .fch.old. That is a outdated file for your character. Note also that as soon as you save back to cloud, the local save will say ".fch.old", but as long as you havnt dont anything, cloud and local save will be the same. As for your world, you will find it in the same place but in Worlds_local. It will have two files you will have to zip. One is called (your worlds name) followed by the ".db" and ".fwl" Again do not save ones that have this: .db.old or ".fwl.old". Those are old files, however, know that again, much like your character file, as soon as you save back to cloud, the .db and .fwl files will both have the .old, but as long as you have not destroyed, moved, or build anything in-between the local and cloud saves, both are identical.

How to zip: select file, if two files, hold down left ctrl, then right click on them click on "sent to" should open up a option to "sent to compressed (zipped) folder. All this does is make a copy of the selected file(s) and puts them into a protected folder than the computer or game ignores unless you manually open it yourself.

i mean, it's an offline game mode so idk how a mob would be able to destroy ship, also my ship was in a secure facility, just one portal named Alpha and it lead to Camp Bravo which is near the shipwreck cove and the Leviathan Mass... any who, no metal on me and i didn't know about half the the metals y'all mentioned, I have copper, and iron, maybe some bronze, all stored in Alpha. never had a dragon egg or seen one.

the only thing i can think is i switch to cloud save recently, last time i played i dont think it was a thing, got some warnings about somtin, i reckon that was my ship idk.

also idk how to spawn things in, but i probably have mats for another, shame thou...

yes, I have over 2000 hrs of play and killed all bosses ... also, I have an obliterator in 2 other seeds ... and even there it is not listed in the forge .... very strange ... and I am not saving through Cloud

Did you try the "hammer craft list menu(remember to right click on the hammer when equipped)" for the Obliterator not forge because it was never in forge.

If it's not there try getting a thunder stone(merchant) and iron ingot smelt it and probably it should appear in the hammer craft menu not the forge.

thank you jem, ... now I feel stupid (in my defense, I have not needed an obliterator in a while) it is in the Hammer menu

If you're saving it on the Cloud, there have been many, many issues with it recently. I disabled it myself. I would respawn the mats for the boat, but don't have a clue on how to help with the portals (unless, as Zathbar says, you're trying to port metals).

Any ingots, copper, tin, bronze, iron, silver, dark metal, red metal or Dragon Eggs, do not go through de portal

Boat may have been destroyed by hostiles.

Portals (how many are we talking here) could be down because on of the pair was destroyed by hostiles or you have something on you that is not able to move through a portal (such items have small icons over them; like a circle with a hash across it).

forgive the question: but are you carrying nay metal ore or Ingots?
