i am done arguing with someone who's not even capable of making an argument.having 50FPS on Far Cry 5 with DSR enabled, compared to this aliexpress graphics game?
you have no idea what you're talking about, imagine comparing valheim to far cry 5.
the only fair comparison to make between these 2 games, is the fact that i get fair FPS on a high graphics game, and get little to no FPS on a lightweight 500mb game with no graphics.
jeez, are you just trolling? is that it?

You get 50FPS in both games. Now you're complaining that you get "little to no" FPS in Valheim. Which is it? Again, you do know there's way more computation involved in games than just graphics, right? Geez, this must be why AAA companies keep churning out garbage like Far Cry 5. People buy it anyway "bcUz oMG grafix".

Geezus guys. Doesn't matter when he bought it, that irrelevant. And also terrible reasoning as it implies that only better cards should be able to run this game (which is wrong). And since the 2070 is not much better, the ones you're referring to would be either the 2080 (was always expensive) or something from the 3000 series that were sold at scalper prices from day 1 - your reasoning would mean that only those are playing who got scalped. Also a 2060 never cost 900$, even in the current dire conditions. 900$ could get you a 3060 Ti at least (still a bad deal). This game got into EA when the 3000 cards were released, so you're telling me that this 5 person indie studio made a game exclusively for gpu's that got released around the same time with graphics like that?
Optimization should be key from the start, especially if they mark a 1060 as recommended. Far too many games made the mistake of focusing on content only, then just called it 1.0 full release at one point without ever spending time and resources to properly optimize their product (Subnautica for example).
I'm thinking of getting this game as while I don't particularly care about Norse mythology, I happen to frickin' LOVE these kind of graphics. Low poly, low rez textures but with awesome lighting and colors, but since I'm still rocking a 2060 and plan to do so for quite awhile, this thread got me think a bit.
Forget gpu prices and stuff, let's just focus on the topic here as I'm also interested to know how this game runs on various systems. What I would like to see here is other people mentioning how much % it uses from their gpu and what are the frames they get.

Well, I didn't say it cost $900, I said it cost $800 right now on Amazon. Which it does. My assumption comes from the arrogance associated with claiming the cheapest RTX card available should somehow be able to handle anything and everything, especially without even mentioning other specs. Clearly a lack of understanding there and it's not off-base to point it out. Has nothing to do with whether or not a 2060 can run the game -- it can, and this guy is one of the many who refuses to believe something else could be going on with his system. He expects it to be a console and just work without any thought or effort. There's asking questions and problem solving, and then there's a monkey throwing its turds at the wall seeing what sticks.
Dude could have an i3-2100 and 4GB RAM for all we know, since he refuses to give the relevant info because his only goal is to troll and be negative, not to fix anything or figure out why his game isn't running well. He's very attached to the idea that only his video card matters and if he can run other games he should be able to run this one (which is the same flawed logic on every single forum by ignorants, blaming the game for a compatibility issue or for a bottleneck). I actually have an even OLDER video card than OP, a 1080Ti which still kicks the crap out of a 2060, so I am certainly not suggesting you need a 20 or 30 series GPU to run the game well. You do need some ability to think critically and problem solve if things seem off though.

What is this unoptimized nonsense?
Staying on topic, as Trakehner mentioned, Valheim is in Early Access, as the game's main page already says so. The game is created by an Indie studio by two main developers. So this 'unoptimized nonsense' you're speaking of is due to these two reasons. It's just how it works. Not every development house uses the same framework to create their apps. So while some developers may focus on optimization early on, others won't.
Right now, the game is at Milestone 2, which they are working on the Mistlands biome content. The current version is v0.204.4, which is a long way from v1.0. Let's see how the game performs at around v0.8.

How is it irrelevant? Care to explain in technical terms for me how the CPU you have doesn't have anything to do with the performance of a PC? Really curious since your knowledge of these things is so far beyond my own.

I never got the sense or arrogance you claim to see in OP. He tells us that with a game looking like it was made for the PS1, he expected his gpu to handle it better. Honestly, I can't really blame him for that.
However, you bring up an interesting point, pointing that we do not know his other components and those might not fall into the recommended category. This is now a better argument, however it is highly unlikely that with a gpu that came out in 2019, he has gear that's from further beyond the past. For anything stated in the recommended field, I assume it is able to run the game at 60-75 fps on 1440p.

On a similar note, my AMD Ryzen 5 2600, with 40GB RAM, and 8GB MSI RX 570 GPU runs 'better', than my wife's older computer using AMD FX 6300, with 24GB RAM, and 4GB ASUS Windforce, in the sense I could see better stuff. However, FPS-wise, mine goes from 24-ish to 62-ish, where as she's barely lower from 21-ish to 57-ish. Both of us run at 1080p.
In short, Valheim isn't optimized and the developers will tweak it in small bits as the updates come.

What, did you spend way too much on it and decide that makes it a high end card? There may be something going on, but an entry level card shouldn't be expected to run things flawlessly anyway.

If you have nothing smart to say then spare me from your bs.
Recommended specs is GeForce GTX 1060.
You are telling me that an RTX 2060 is not an high end GPU? You are just delusional.

You seem mad that you spent $800 on a $300 GPU from two years ago. Lots of factors in a video game bud, you clearly don't get that there's more going on than graphics behind the scenes. Could have a CPU bottleneck or literally dozens of other things giving you lower FPS than you want. It's an early access game with terraformable landscapes and procedural generation. Far Cry 5 is a re-skin of a game that came out in 2012. Not really the same.

maybe it was a gift?
why do you even care, talking about money, you seem jealous,. truly pathetic to mock me because of your oblivious assumptions.
you are just a bot. your responses are automated, clearly
far cry 5 is not a reskin, it is reworked, dunia engine 2, you just think you know everything.. you have no idea what you're talking about, imagine comparing valheim to far cry 5.

It's an early access game. Not fully optimized yet, and won't be until closer to full release.
Play just fine with a 1080 card myself. I've seen lots of people with higher end cards that still have a lot of issues. Not sure what the deal is.
