Food stats

Why do they last 1/4th of the total time, what's the point?

Disagree. If it lasts 30 minutes then I want it to last 30 minutes, not 23.
but that's not how energy and hunger works in real life, the way the game is set up now simulates real life ration care taking way better than a generic lazy setup of simulation.
Well, drinking water isn't even a thing in the game, calling in realism doesn't make much sense to me.

you maybe putting a little too much focus on the realism part of what i was saying, twisting it a little too far away to make the sense of meaning i had in mind with it.

Hahaha 🤣 💀 fight trolls, goblins and sea serpents really does simulate "real life". 👍

Hard lesson in life, you are not going to get everything YOU want.

It is also not real life that eating dinner allows me to survive getting smashed by a tree trunk from a creature that's 15 feet tall.

The higher tier foods degrade so quickly that by the time you regen health, the max has already decreased.
i mean at this point, why are you even playing the game ? sounds like you just like to complain.

That's where Valheim being a survival and exploration game and not a simulation game comes into play.

Also you're a dead viking brought to Odin's prison realm by a valkyrie to remind the gods' foes why they are dead.

They already changed it, remember when it decreased gradually?, now it progressively decreases and you only really start to notice it after half the time is remaining, heck even in the last minute you still have like 30-40% left or so.

They last longer than 1/4th the time.
They do start to wane, but the decreases are larger the closer it is to the end of its duration.

This mechanic is far better than it going from 100% to 0% instantly.

The point is to give you the ability to eat something else before the duration is completely over AND to give you warning the effectiveness is decreasing.

It's stupid. The number starts decreasing after the first minute and you can't eat anything else until that food is flashing. It should remain at full strength and start decreasing once it starts flashing. Or it should just disappear when the time is up. If it runs out because you were not paying attention, then you get to learn not to do it again or keep dying. Very simple.

this is a glass half full half empty situation, cause really, when you have just eaten you get a buff on top of what they food will give you on stats and just before it starts flashing is where you are having the intended stats that you go by, as soon it's starts flashing it decreases and you can eat.

you either see it as a negative the first time it decreases or you realize that the first minutte is actually you having an extra buff, glass half empty or glass half full.

Okay but why? It'd warrant rebalancing the food stats all over again because you're not supposed to stay at [food stat maximum] for half of its "lifetime".

get better food, build the cooking station and start getting better foods, no need to complain before you actually experienced what the game offers in total and full experience.
