Lost contents in chest
I deconstructed a deer rug that was under my workbench and a chest, which destroyed both losing all the resources I had in the chest. First off, wtf? Is this "working as intended"? Second, is there a way I can revert back to my last world save?

The resources should still be around. Have you tried walking around the spot where the chest was with some space in your inventory?

Resources will be around. They can end up under the floor if there is another story/gap under the floorboards, or a story up/on the roof or outside the wall. The stuff spreads out to drop.

Yeah, I ripped up the floor and they are nowhere to be found. They weren't in my inventory either. Odd thing though, I logged out and back in and both the workbench and chest with all the resources were right where they are supposed to be. Odd glitch.

Sounds like a server issue. Servers will reset daily or more to stay stable. The game also saves itself but only your character. So it is possible, or was, to duplicate or lose stuff depending on the timing of the saves. Yeah, I ripped up the floor and they are nowhere to be found. They weren't in my inventory either. If this happened in a solo game I can't imagine what went on unless you crashed out or something.

If you're playing solo you may be able to switch to an older save.
To back up your Valheim save data, navigate to your game's file location. Generally, you can find your save data in the following location:
C:\Users\Username\AppData\LocalLow\IronGate\Valheim\
The Worlds and Characters folders contain your save data. In the worlds folder there will be .old files in there and .fwl and .db files. Once you've backed up everything you can re-name the .fwl and .db files by adding .new to them, then remove .old from the others. Load the game and see if your stuff is back. If not, revert to the originals. You may want to disable cloud saves before you do this.

I was rearranging and demo’ed a banner. Thought I also lost it. Days later I saw the parts on the roof.
