I am open to the idea that a viking's status effect should be saved upon logging out and restored upon logging in. However, that might lead to an "exploit." Say one is in a boss fight with two or three other vikings and one is really low on health with the boss in hot pursuit. Log out, wait twenty seconds for the other vikings to draw off the boss, then log back in.

As to respawning with the "Rested" status, I believe that is inconsistent with the game. One did not initially arrive in Valheim, resurrected from the battlefield, with the "Rested" status. Why should one be resurrected from a death in game with the "Rested" status?

When you respawn the first thing you should do is grabbing a backup gear and food from a chest which would take long enough for the rested buff to be applied

More generally, have these status effects persist when logging out.
