Remove greydwarf enemies

Dumb, boring, and frustrating. Worst fluff enemy of any game. Wanting to make the early game longer by adding these trash mobs with instant magical respawns is a 30yr old out dated gameplay mechanism. Other than the brute they are nothing more than flies, they act like it and breed (?) like it too. Need copper? dont ever play solo youll only get greydwarf loot. half my time is inventory managemnt dropping their ♥♥♥♥ loot.

Needed to rant and just wondering how yall feel about this gameplay design.

If you are going to be in the Forest for a while just build some camp fires. They will buzz around outside the fire's radius and pretty much leave you alone. Once you have iron armor you can pretty much ignore them except for the brutes. They do like half a point of damage then and it heals instantly if you have rested buff running. Having a swarm of them around you can actually be helpful when a "you are being hunted" event occurs.

As others have said, they only mass spawn at night and there are a few ways to keep them away if you wanted. I usually just drop 1 fireplace in the middle of the node and it works well enough where I can get some decent mining in before going around and clearing them all out. I will mention that you'll need a lot of greydwarf eyes later in the game so don't feel like killing and looting them all is a waste.

But they're the only friends who visit me often.
They're like family now, come on....

They're simply an annoyance, so I don't mind them. I'd rather they be kept as to avoid the early biomes feeling empty.

Free wood and rock. Gathering wood and rock is more dull than dealing with boring enemy.
If they are annoying to kill, you can ignore them, they literally cannot damage you in endgame equipment so you can just keep walking.

Don't take away my building material delivery service. Their AI moves around the way it does to try to get you to waste your stamina chasing them. If the respawns are as bad as you say, there's probably a spawner within hearing range of your mining site that you can destroy.

Dig to bedrock on copper nodes. They can't see you, they wont bother you. Problem solved. The few that do show up are just resource deliver service. And bow practice. For a while I built a fence around the node and never had any issue so you could try that. They just get all excited when they see you, just want to be friends...

Sounds like you are playing at night time.. night time is literally spawn after spawn.. just sleep.. in the day time only pats of 2-3 will come and you cab kill them in a few seconds and get back to work..

I hate anything that circles around and wastes my time while trying to kill them. This is especially horrible if you're using short range weapons or a bow. Long range (aoe) weapons tend to excel with these type of enemies.

Fuhlings are just as bad as greydwarves to me. I think they set it up to have them run in circles as a chance to have a "rest" or "prepare" period, but I'm sure it's mostly to annoy us :lunar2019laughingpig:

Yeah they can get annoying but they are easy to kill. Its just something you gotta get used to. But I wouldn't remove them because they are meant to be an easier enemy to start out with early game. Also, their drops are quite useful especially if you are building. You usually don't have to deal with them if its day so just sleep when its night.

Howdy Frens. All you have to do is build a perimeter of campfires around your copper nodes. It keeps them Greydwarves away during the daytime (unless it rains). Nighttime will be a bit more challenging as the Brutes and Shamans do not fear fire. Stay strong, brothers.

They are not a big deal. They can be a bit annoying at times (especially at the very beginning), but once you get a decent weapon, they are pretty easy to kill. I use them to increase certain skills and when I go into a new area, it's pretty easy to get some needed supplies quickly. And I play solo and I don't have a problem mining stuff.

I agree with Hondo. I look at it like a monotony breaker from the tedium that mining can be at times. Eat mace Dorf.
