Start now or wait for full release.

Hey guys, I played Valheim back in the day and want to come to back to it. Should I wait for full release for mistland or if I start now could I use that save to go straight into mistland?

Thanks

Map generation is going to change with the update because the space they previously left for mistlands was too small to generate properly.

Great reply, actually what I was wondering. Thank you!

Thats from a scan of the forum posts only if you look at early adopter Videos even more detail is coming out.

Which given the Public Test nature of the new stuffs is reasonable.

Then there's the issue of will stuff you build on PT remain when it becomes the live branch? I see they are hedging their bets their (also correctly) If your not really attached to Base building then that's nod to starting now I guess.
yeah i know it's a big difficulty jump from the plains to the mistlands, but i see it understandable because in that point you should have a lot of experience with the combat and feel of the game, even that disgusting seeker killing me hundreds of times

Not sure why even ask. No one is going to tell you to start a Public Test as it's bad advice, if something goes wrong you'll complain of bad advice and so on.

Saying that, obviously I'm going to try it myself as it's exactly the same as playing the game during early access. To each their own.

The short answer is: It depends.

If you don't mind replaying games months later and not get that bored. Go ahead and play now. You'll be able to compare experiences throughout the development.

If you'd rather play a game once and then uninstall, Wait. Not just for mistlands, but for the full 1.0, exiting early access release, so you can play the full game once.

I'm waiting for full release but I'm creating new world and build a new base there so when the update is live I can just play right away.
I just build and didn't explore the map at all also I find a location close to the Altar, I hope it didn't ruin my old save and I still get the updated content later when the update is live.

Went on the Public test with my Char and World ( Yes I made backups ;-) ) . My pre mistland world had explored only the starting Island and to a 2nd Island where the plains are. Went out with a ship to search for the Mistlands and had no problems. Now I`m exploring very carefully there, many unfriendly things.

Maybe wait for the Mistland update to go live, then play. Maybe even on a new world. As it is, any Mistlands area you discover won't generate after it has been explored.

Alternatively, you could opt into the Mistlands public test version & see it all as soon as you want.
