This is ridiculous!
You can bring every type of item threw a portal except ore!? I hope this idiotic game mechanic gets removed

It won't. One dev wanted no portals, the other wanted everything to go through portals. This was the compromise.

It won't. The devs want you to use boats. There is an easy way around it though that would take you like 12 seconds to Google but there is a group of people who think that workaround is ridiculous and also demand the devs fix it.
