Yeah it is a bug, I kept digging this massive empty hole looking for the reason of the beep, marked it on my map as I was there for waay to long already and left, came back later and there was no beep.

yea destroy the chest for that. Or just leave.

For the silver vein it won't shut up until you mine out the center of the deposit. If you separate the entire deposit from the surrounding stone you can hit the center of the deposit a couple of times and the entire vein will shatter into a shower of stone and silver ore.

Yeah meadows is a different biome. The chest doesn't always contain a silver necklace so there its the chest that triggers the wishbone.

its really not too complicated. silver CAN be out of reach, but its rare.
the WB can find other things too, in the swamp and more.

Move around a bit and keep digging you'll either find the edge of the silver node or you'll find a skeleton and a silver necklace (used to make the treasure chest decoration) or very rarely a wooden chest that will contain gems and at least one silver necklace. When you take the silver necklace the wishbone goes silent just like when you mine out all the silver in the silver node. Sometimes you'll find even a 2nd or 3rd silver node.

it's a new treasure thing with 3 slanted slabs of rock right?

Are you certain its beeping as fast as it can go? The detection range is huge so you have to feel it out a bit.

I dug and found a skeleton and my wishbone didn't stop singing until I left the 'zone' and came back

After digging down dig into two opposite directions for a bit.
