Released in Early Access feels like year ago, and nothing since?!?!

Curious what is going on. Game released in Early Access, took the monies... we played it and had some fun but it's missing a lot of stuff to do. Took a break and each time we look back nothing has changed.

Why is such a popular game that had so much hype and likely tons of money coming in just decided to mostly do nothing for a year?

No kidding. It's quite similar to how it "FEELS LIKE" every day there's several whine posts about the devs being greedy crooks that are off spending the money they stole from us - all written by people that have zero personal knowledge of what the devs are actually doing, what it takes to create content, code games, run a game studio business, etc., etc.
Or at least that's how it "FEELS LIKE" to me.

In fact it "FEELS LIKE" just about every other game forum I've been on. Now that's where we sorely need a content update :steammocking:
Oh and you have the special knowedge to understand what devs are doing, realy stfu after a year since release + unexpected massive cashflow they didnt managed to add anything 2021 + this game is unity so its so easy to add stuff in this small game, even single modders achieved more then the devs in the whole year these simps drive me crazy lol

I think you just demonstrated that guy's point that you don't understand anything about development by equating mods with actual content.

When you buy early access games it warns you that your buying a game that's not finished and all that jazz. Unfortunately this game is early access and therefore a punt has been made and product must be accepted as is. Complaints about no updates etc is not encouraging behavior nor do they flatter the complainer.

Also with a studio of what, 5 people? They're probarbly also spending an insane amount of time finding new people which they now have, last i heard they hired 8 people. Once they settle in and get what they're working on, content is going to be pumped out. And stop saying they "ran with the money" where would they run? This game is literally their passion and they love this game, that money will help them A TON in the run long and they're more motivated than ever to get back to us and give us something, be patient. Rome was not build in a day.

So when they were promising multiple large updates in a year with a smaller team, and they're now barely on track to release the first large update, that must have been because they didn't have an adequate understanding of how buggy their game was. So how do you trust them now to do well with a bunch of (up-front) money in order to develop their game for years in the future, when they can't stick to a road-map for more than a few months?

Rome was built by disciplined murderers, over centuries, and turned into a brutal theocracy which routinely murdered entire populations so they could justify bigger parades. On multiple levels, I don't think the valheim team is going to live up to your expectations. But hopefully you can just keep adjusting them lower whenever they tell you to.

True xD

Honestly I don't think they're greedy or just trying to run with the money, I honestly think they're just blatantly incompetent in their infrastructure.

I think they mean well, but their code/QA management is just awful.

No one can deny the devs promised a lot of substantial content and have thus far only delivered minor updates, a lot of which were QoL which barely anyone even liked.

I mean, I assumed the roadmap was vastly overstated, and knew it would get knocked back and then some. But with the popularity the game received, they've got no choice but to make sure everything goes right with the content expansions. It's gonna be years and you should be prepared for that.
