I totally agree, I make this point often but people will still defend their whining and then attack you for pointing it out.

the amount of people who really thought you meant a full minute is just hilarious. its like 1 or 2 seconds and, yes, it is SUPER annoying. Like I have to stop whatever im doing when i see the save warning so I dont get smashed by a fuling berserker in that second (which seems to be super common?)

Curious to whether or not you're playing with mods or not?

Weird we play with 4 on the map and nobody has any problem like that. We get the messge but no lag. The worst we have seen is a freeze of maybe a fraction of a second and that's it

Try using the console command to delete all dropped items from the world, just make sure you don't have anything important just laying around on the ground. It helped me a lot when my world started getting lag when trying to open doors etc. I would guess there's some bug where the game doesn't delete the dropped items when it should and it will eventually cause lag.

its a mix of game optimize and hardware.
here is a test for you: copy the world file on your machine with a console command and time it. you can time it by setting the dos prompt to have timestamps ($t). eg prompt $t$g and then do the copy, its crude but it will do. Does that take 30 seconds or more (if it does, your disk has a problem or its 20 years old or something). If it does not, its the game's poor serialization of the save data.

A minute?? For me it generally takes about 2 seconds.

If you navigate to Users\%UserName\AppData\LocalLow\IronGate\Valheim\worlds, how big is your worldname.db file?

Yeah I'm not sure why yours is taking so long or what you can do to fix it, but I can at least confirm this is definitely not a general problem, or at least it's not standard.

No doubt not a general problem for that amount of time (full minute), but it is a general problem generally - even if only lasting 2 or 3 seconds. If the Devs can't make those saves imperceptible to the player then they should at least make them optional imho.

Like others said it only took me about 2 or 3 seconds in my mid to low system 10th gen i7 pair with old GTX 1660Ti.
If you having it for entire minute then there's something wrong or you're just being exaggerated.
