You don't even need to do the world switching, stamina isn't recorded when logging out.

Its generally advised not to leave a game while in transport, it can cause such things as Megahurts mentioned.

If you need to log off quick, just sail to the closest land and jump out of your boat first.

When you run out of stamina, you start taking damage, which then ultimately kills you. If you stay still, you don't use stamina though.

So if someone in a group logs out, they can be rescued by others.

I've found out that if you dc in the ocean and the ship isn't there to catch you then you just respawn at spawn, but it only happened the one time someone dc'd in the ocean so it might have been luck.

My best guess, in this case, is because he's DC, not log out I think the game didn't save the current location of his character that's why he respawns at spawn.
So yeah, I think it considered lucky for him.

It's really risky to log out of the game when your character in the middle of the ocean, like others, said it would lead you to get drown and die. Losing stuff isn't the worst part of being dead in this game but losing skills level is the worst it's not only certain skills that we lost but all of them.
