Broken game? Help?
So apparently this game is broken for many ppl after the hearth and home update (for months now!!!). For me too. I put 100hrs into "my server" and stopped playing it in summer. Now after i came back i even cant generate a new world. It always crashes at world load.
What i did try:
-reinstall
-searched for broken files
-reinstalled gpu drivers
-cpu priority high
-fullscreen opt. off
-playing as admin
-starting the game in windowed mode
-trying in vulkan and dx mode
-the usual nvidia panel tweaks
-trying a new character
I do not play valheim with any mods. The game worked fine for me on high settings 1440p and vulkan. Its pretty annoying that i cant even start a new world....so anyone here who could give me some advice how to fix this bs?

How about manually delete the installation and Appdata Valheim folders have uninstalling it, then reinstalling the game?
I did a clean reinstall now. Win10, Steam, Bios etc. Its working again...for now. Only the performance got worse. Im getting around 40fps now in my village.

I think I read from GunsForBucks or Pipo, or Mharr, that if you terraform the land around you, it causes the FPS to drop. I would suggest you turn off some graphic settings like SSAO and lower the shadow quality. After lowering my shadow quality from High to low, my FPS was consistently from 50 ish to 62 FPS in most scenarios. Also, if you play with a laptop, having your power cable plugged in apparently helped for some users.

Like i said. The game worked fine before the update. Ive got around 80-100fps back than. More buildings = less fps. But well gonna live with it...at least the game runs now...
