Are you sure you weren't just loading for a long time? Upon starting a new world, it can take a very long time for the initial load, while subsequent loads will be significantly faster. Try again, and do not at any point touch your mouse or keyboard during the initial load, just let it go for a couple of minutes.

Why do you think it's a game problem and not your computer? Most people don't have any issues loading the game. And as mentioned above, a new session can take a bit of time to load for the first time. You should try again.
