Hey! there is a modding community... use it!

for games like this , i think the developer must identiy the community contributions , discuss mods , and community proposal. everyone will benefit and everyone will be happy with that. I KNOW making a game is an HARD WORK... but hey! you got an huge community ! involve us into it! make mods contest , then the community itself upvote the best mods to get offficially into the game , there is nothing bad on it , people is born to do stuff togheter.

be positive and trust humans.

I think mods ruin a game, but that is just my personal opinion.
Modding does give me endless opportunity to help people who messed up games and saves by modding. So modding lets me feel good about myself.

edit add - and these new mod loader/managers that mess up your game from another drive or isolated program. That had to be the dumbest idea ever. Now people can't even nuke the install to get rid of them.

your answer is an answer of someone that didnt' red good my pos sorry sir.
IMHO , when MODS starts come out from community it's barely positive.
it's why skyrim and all other games with mods are still played to day.
Valheim in one of them sir , and with no mods around this game would had 50% or even less.
accept reality

During development? Nah, takes away time that can be used for finishing the game.
Modding doesn't need the developers approval or involvement to happen, its been happening and will continue to happen regardless.

Because i have some experiences with software development, i 100% agre with you

Hey, I love [SPAM], especially Spam Musubi, or Spam and Eggs, or.... the Lobster Theramadore with never mind.

However, more to the point, this is a thread that has come up before. Modders, in general, make what they want; not what the devs want. Modders might be good at some things, but many of them are not Interactive Entertainment professionals.

More to the point, too many cooks or growers spoil the pot, and too many coders spoil the game.

I am inflexible about this olde argument.. yes it is so olde I am using an ol' fashioned e on it now.

I play Vanilla and mostly I don't miss a thing. The only mod I'd really like to be incorporated is the Plant Everything mod, as it allows me to add vines to my houses and bushes to be planted where I want them.

Other than that, I don't care much about mods. IMHO, they do ruin a game, in both figurative and literal ways.

But, hey, to each their own. Just don't expect IronGate to add mod support before the game is fully released. This thing is getting rehashed every other week or so...

It really is getting old.

IMHO will be deactivated devcon before version 1.0 release - this is indicated by the conversion of console activation into the application startup parameter ...

the current modding approach is neither supported by the devs nor can it really get prevented by the devs

I did read your post .... sir?

I do not agree with using mods.

I have over 1700 hrs in game and never modded or wanted to mod. Everyone does not want or need mods.

DO NOT SPEAK FOR OTHER PEOPLE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You are entitled to your opinion. But when you throw it around like it is fact it will piss people off...... so if you want to endear people to using mods then stop that ♥♥♥♥!!! You understand now?

You know I personally think modders ♥♥♥♥♥♥ development. And then all the people who come in after an update to complain how the devs broke their games etc... It just makes me sick of all the wasted time by the devs trying to sort through real issues over issues caused by modding. Ruins the feedback cycle totally.

Face it, mods are popular because people are lazy and stupid. Those are the hardest people to help when they are bound to mess up. Not saying everyone who mods are like this just the majority.

Accept reality.

Look you should maybe just rethink how you presented the issue?

Not intending to chase you off. Feel free to post about modding, lots of people do.

I was initially iffy just because of how patches have a tendency to break mods. But really the patches come at such a rate that it's worth the gamble. There is more than enough time to go through that process of switching it up and then burning yourself out all over again. And in most cases it is an easy process for authors to port mods onto newer versions, but obviously it depends what the mod does.

I'm always in favour of functions and features that let returning players access their preferred content faster or work with them in a new way after they have already enjoyed the game in its vanilla state.

If you know what it is that you like about the game, make changes that promote spending a greater ratio of time with that aspect. Or add something that makes those less enjoyable parts more appealing. Show those live service grinders the freedoms that they are losing out on.
