Question about raids
So now Valheim is on discount and I really would like to give it a try since game looks very cool but there is a one problem. I have read about raid system and I have to say I am not big fan of this. I understand that is important feature and a lot of people like it but when I want to focus on building I don't want to be prepared for attack every 45 minutes. I mean if I got legit info it works like every 45 minutes you have 20% chance for raid, right?
So is there any way to avoid raids WITHOUT mods or something? Or maybe they are not that scary, like you just ran away and mobs dissapear? I don't know. Could someone tell me more about it?

We made an Elder base on the edge of the Black Forest. Built up on a plateau we made(LOTS of stone to do) dug a little moat, made watch towers where we can rain arrows on the Grays.
When a raid hits we sit back and watch the fireworks. Any raid except "The forest is moving" the raiders just go after the Grays.
Its awesome watching the forest explode with purple flashes and glittering loot piles.

Only issue I have with these retarded raids are when I leave my base for a long time as soon as I come into range of my base I have 100% raid chance... just started only beat one boss and yet everytime I explore and come back to store my loot I have to deal with a raid... it's like there isn't a chance system is a garrentee if your exploring... haven't had one time were I didn't leave the base and come back to a raid even if I use a portal if I'm away then come back I have to deal with it... sometimes don't even feel like it's been 20 mins that I walk away then come back to being raided... kinda just makes raids more annoying than fun.. I'd like to be working on a project in my base to a random raid.. this makes me just Wana spawn ♥♥♥♥ in so I don't leave the base and deal with a raid when I get back with lack of food Stam health and a full inventory or if i die no inventory or weapons 🤔 😐 I heard 20% chance every 40 mins but for me I'm getting 100% chance every time I leave range of my base and come back
Aside from being headache-inducing, everything you wrote there is wrong.

Keep in mind of a couple of things.
It is a survival game, not a building sim. And it is in early access. Developers have hinted a possible difficulty level setting in the future. This could include a creative mode. But it could easily be years away.
In the meantime, there is a debug mode where you can have full access to building items, etc. This also include a keystroke command to kill anything near by. So if you build in that mode and get a raid, you can kill them off easily without worry.
How:
Open console: Press F5 key
Enter: devcommands
Enter: debugmode
Close console: Press F5 key again
Keystrokes during debugmode on:
B to toggle no material loss
K to kill all monsters around you
Z to toggle fly mode (careful, if you are high up and toggle it off, you will fall and die :) )

There are 2 sides to this coin. Sure it's a survival game but having the option to turn on/off the raid mechanic or change how often it can trigger (especially with MP) could have also been implemented a long time ago as well.
I know it was challenging in the mountains / plains / swamps already and the survival feel element was definitely there. Many folks just want to be able to go home, relax and focus on getting their resources sorted, foods made, crops done, or simply relax without having a raid hit you because you are home.

Worst case you can just run around and kite them within the red area for about 5 minutes or so for the "raid" event to despawn, then you can kite the mobs far away from your base and lose them through traditional means. So is there any way to avoid raids WITHOUT mods or something? Or maybe they are not that scary, like you just ran away and mobs dissapear? I don't know. Could someone tell me more about it?
When it comes to ditching mobs, what I've found to work well is to sprint away and break LOS then go into stealth and stay out of LOS. They will move about for a bit trying to find you but if they can't they will go about their business and leave you alone.

They will not dissapear after some time? There is not way to deal with them if you are not strong enought to fight them? Sounds not good if you have a base where u spent a lot of time to build it and it got destroyed and trolls made there a new home.
The way the raids work is that you are (almost) always strong enough to fight them. They escalate based on your progress in the game. Even the dreaded Trolls are child's play once you figure the game out a little bit. The enemies try to attack YOU, not your base. Don't hide behind your base and they won't smash it. As soon as you see a raid coming, get away from your buildings and kill it. Or, if you really can't handle it, run around for a few minutes and the raid will end. You might also find that you can get some help defending your base, not gonna spoil anything though.

Build an obstacle course/playground/track and field stadium next to your base. Raid comes, run out there and put those mobs through their paces!

It's really not that bad, especially if you make a mountain base because only wolves can attack. Even then, it's only IF you're at your base and even then it's rare. I've gotten like.. 2 raids at my mountain base in 70+ hours there.

You can use the hoe to raise an earthen berm around your base. The earthen berm is indestructible. You can use the pick to dig a dry moat on the other side of the berm. 3 tiles down is enough. Stuff will sometimes fall into the moat and its pretty easy to kill that stuff with a bow or if you want an impregnable fortress you can put another earthen berm outside the dry most then you only have to put a core wood beam across the moat to use as a bridge. When you want to take a cart across you just have to build floor tiles across the core wood beam and then remove them again when you get the cart across. That will stop all ground based raids.
Ariel raids can be slowed down by placing a roof on every building inside your base (ie: make your livestock pen and bee apiary into barns)

They are easy to deal with.
As you progress through the game they get tougher but they are never really more than just an annoyance. and if you build a moat around your base then you are basically untouchable by the raids

Unless you pop in like 20 trolls. Was fun watching them go to work on my base. Great way to tear down a base you don't want. Well the most fun anyways.
