looking to get this game
can someone who's played for awhile fill me in on what to expect? I m looking for a coop game of 2 to 3 ppl. is this a full reset survival game? or do you retain some items, perks, sills, or gear when you die? or do you respawn if you're in a coop map? in terms of coop, what can you do with your friends and how much worth is your character that you build? thx

Is the cooking game on twitter that good without content ? And what's the game called ?
I avoid mainstream social media like the plague, if at all possible, so, likely not my cuppa, just curious tho :)

It's not a game, it's real recipe so you can cook while you wait for the game to update.

This isn't monster hunter where co-op is kind of a joke. This is real co-op where you are always in the same world. You can choose to work together or explore/build on your own and just get together for boss fights. Up to you and your friends how you want to play.
As others have said death penalty isn't all that bad. You can't starve to death but health pool and stamina pool are very important making food a vital item to upgrade. Stamina management is a key factor to survival.
I have made plenty of worlds and characters. With enough experience you can do a no death run from a new seed and fresh character... but learning the game you will die a lot. So I would suggest playing a couple of world seeds with new characters to learn all the mechanics then try a new seed world with a new character and try for a no death run.
It really comes down to how you enjoy a game.
If you are looking for a game to "win" by beating all the bosses then I would suggest you wait until they finish the game in a few years.
If you can enjoy the gameplay loop and enjoy the journey then pick it up now.
The game is open world so how you play it is really up to you.
One other thing... they game will throw hints at you but it won't hold your hand. At times there is almost too much to do and you have to decide where to invest your time. The game won't guide you to every step, so pay attention to the raven and loading screen hints

Exploration? The game is very fun... at first. The more you play it, the more you reach the 'endgame'-content, and the more barren the game gets.
What kept me going long after the so called "end game" is the combat, exploration, resource gathering, building, farming, taming etc.
If you are the type that spent long hours playing minecraft long after you killed "the ender dragon" You should enjoy the same lengthy gameplay here.
Even though I've been playing 1300 hours w/ practically the same character, my swim rating is still only 52. My block 53 (out of 100). I have room to grow still. I'll be playing other games and an idea will pop into my head of something I can do in Valheim.
But there is nothing to explore.
There are no unique points of interest, no unique dungeons, no unique treasures, you've been once to a biome, you've been to them all.
Removing fog of war from the map isn't what I would call "exploring".
Skill grind isn't what I would use as good thing here either.
Combat is indeed fun, but lacks variety.
And while I agree that comparing it to minecraft is somewhat valid, game is extremely content shallow in comparison.
It is fun, but it does not have any long term hooks unless you like to build exclusively.

Hunt & gather food & materials, build a workbench, build a shelter, build a fire & bed, get the rested buff. explore in any direction you like.
At the start find the rune that shows the location of the first boss. kill him when you think you are ready. Each boss you kill as you progress will slightly amp up difficulty of enemy spawns as you progress, so no need to rush anything, play at your own pace. (or at the same pace as a team) in co-op.
Each boss is tied to a different biome- meaning you will have to explore to find more rune stones (also called Vegisvir) to find the next boss of the following biome. Aech boss will need a different spawn offering at their altar, but the clues for what they are, are kind of a little cryptic at first.
If you do die, your items that you had on your person will be at the site of your death, but you will load back in either at the beginning, or at a bed, if you built one.
More players working together is plenty of fun. Solo is good too, if you are confident enough to try and create your own world and do a solo run. If you already have a few friends that play on the regular, I'd suggest grabbing a copy, and maybe having a test run.
Also there is meant to be a new update coming soon that adds new content for both food, building pieces & various station upgrades, from what I have gathered so far.

I can't comment on co-op, but I can see how great that will be when the time comes.
Nothing I could add here that hasn't been said above, other than CrunchyBolt Nova's reference to Minecraft, hit's the nail on the head for me.
And yes, when you have put some time into exploring, you may feel it could do with more content, give it time, on the other hand that's any game of this genre, the journey and the atmosphere are more than worth the time and money spent.

When ya die you drop yer stuff that you can run back and pickup. You also lose 5% of your skill levels but that is it. You always respawn back at yer bed you last slept in and like I said, you can go back to yer grave and get all yer stuff.

Getting dead is something that can happen quite often (usually when exploring a new biome or forgetting to eat and getting unplanned damage) but you lose only 5% of your skills. All your stuff is dropped at your gravestone and you get a timed "no skill drain" effect where you won't lose more skill if you die multiple times trying to get your stuff back. The only way you can permanently loose stuff is if you fall over the very edge of the world (world is flat) or if your boat is destroyed in deep water (the nails sink).
