YES! thanks developers! Massive performance improvement!
It makes me very happy to see that performance has improved by a lot! It has come such a long way, there is always room for more improvement but i am very happy. I honestly did not expect this massive jump, so I'm very pleasantly surprised and here to let you know!

Notable improvement for me as well. I was able to raise graphics settings without a loss of FPS.

ye same, and the fps is MUCH more stable, I have a small town where fps would be 30's 20's before and now pretty much solid 60 here and there minor dips, nothing to big. REALLY happy with this update!

Everybody on our server noticed a performance increase that was dramatic enough that it was noteworthy starting at load-in. Great job.

Some people have reported performance loss also, but I think many of them haven't realized that the update added few more sliders for lighting/shadows AND reset all settings, so they can be too high for their rigs.

I am happy to read that, I see a lot of people who don't even notice here on the forums. Or maybe they do and take it for granted? I don't. I never expected this increase in my wildest dreams. I hoped it would be like this on release in x years. Everybody on our server noticed a performance increase that was dramatic enough that it was noteworthy starting at load-in. Great job.
This is indeed what is going on, there are more sliders and you have more choice then before. If I set everything to max I'll have a bad time, but honestly there are very few games where I can do that, if any. Some people have reported performance loss also, but I think many of them haven't realized that the update added few more sliders for lighting/shader (if I remember right) AND reset all settings, so they can be too high for their rigs.

I feel exactly the same way. I expected a *little* bit better with what was said about the update when it was in the works, not this enormous boost. SO happy.

Same here. Though nerfing stamina is going to be bad for me, cuz in my current game I have no intention of reaching the swamps. I just want to chop, mine and build with wood, and without proper stamina food it will take some time to get used to it.

Try fiddling around with the new settings, or use my optimized (tm) settings. I disabled all setttings that cause lag regardless of what you do and the rest you can bump up according to whatever juice is left in your gpu.It makes me very happy to see that performance has improved by a lot! Optimized settings, with least lag. if you have a 3090 you can bump view distance and lights etc.
Depth of field causes constant lag, and the other disabled causes lag spikes (for me).

I have max 3 fps since update, with all video setting at min. And i have red the same for a lot of people :( Some people have reported performance loss also, but I think many of them haven't realized that the update added few more sliders for lighting/shadows AND reset all settings, so they can be too high for their rigs.

What are your computer specs, resolution, etc? In task manager you can see how much your gpu and cpu is used. Make sure to tick always on top in options to see it ingame. Set gpu setting to 3D in taks manager to see % usage.I have max 3 fps since update, with all video setting at min. In graphics department, maybe, for cpu/memory, nope. My horde of wolves gives me same 30-40% gpu usage with 40-60fps and like 1.5 cores used. Outside of ai heavy areas or on the new world, game goes up to 120-150 on max setting. Oh well, good old unity pushing everything in one cpu cache thread on one core. *cries in burst jobs*

Of course, it's a 3D11 title. This will most likely never change. You're cpu limited and specifically the first 2-4 threads. This is VERY common for 3D11 titles. Though some AAA 3D11 games do support usage of up to 16 threads, most don't. In graphics department, maybe, for cpu/memory, nope. Your options are to launch in Vulkan, wait for 3D12(X), or get a faster cpu with greatly improved IPC.
