Banners can also be made with coal anyway, which can be made via farmed trees or animals. So allowing berries to be farmed would just mean the red and blue banners would be farmable too now instead of just the black ones.

I'm not sure I understand the argument against growing all the food types... don't allow berry bushes to be planted because of banners? that's ridiculously picky in my opinion. almost to the point of saying "small inconveniences are what makes the game fun" (smh)

Blueberries for instance are a pain to farm and can be hard to find.

Did I miss something about the usefulness of having more than one banner? I build one early on after getting a bit of fine wood. Multiple banners aren't increasing the rested buff are they?

Only really useful for more coverage, no stacking.

Ok gotcha. I can't see that being a reason for them not adding berry farming then. My resting rooms are always 5x5, so coverage is never an issue.

There is a feedback tool within the game, use it to ask this, like most everyone else who wants it, me included, sooner or later they might cave in to public demand and actually allow it, I hate having to run miles into the BF to get Blueberries, if it werent for the map marking ability it would be so frustrating..... but yes, it would be real nice if all growing plants could be turned into seeds and grown.

It would be nice to plant more than just carrots and turnips yeah. Personally I'd like to be able to plant berries and thistle too. Hopefully we'll get something in the Hearth and Home update.

+1. 11 days between berry respawns is too long when a tree goes from seed to fully grown in 2 days.

a tree should take at least 20-30 days imho.

Running around like a lunatic just to find berries gets annoying at time.

If the farming system becomes more advanced and plant health was more of a thing, this seems like it could be ok, but in the end this game is designed around the need to go out and hunt. That's part of what makes it a much better game than ARK or Don't Starve that become more and more base centric. Some "clicker" grinding is ok, but it shouldn't be the main grinding necessary. Going out into the forests and coming back with a haul of berries still being valuable so any players can still adventure and contribute to everything else is part of the greater appeal as well. Also, if anything is a pain it's always needing more Thistle :P

I use a mod that allows it. I use them mostly for landscaping eye candy.

I thought about installing one of the plant anything mods, but I just don't think it's necessary.

I kinda like just grabbing any berries I see while I'm out exploring. I think that's probably the reason we can't farm them. Blueberries were a bit rough when the game first released, but I feel like something changed with the H&H update because I usually have around 2 stacks of them after exploring the black forest. Same with thistle. I'm assuming they increased the spawn rate?

I do wish there were some more complicated, higher tier foods in the later game. Maybe some recipes that require carrots, turnips and onions along with other things like some plains/mountain/swamp items.

I'd like a reason to keep planting carrots and turnips after finding onions (other than just feeding tamed boar).
