You can raise earth walls to prevent things (that don't fly) from getting to you. You can place Workbenches, and even hide them, along the perimeter of your base(s) to keep things from spawning inside.

invasions happen when there are 3+ objects in 40m radius near player that can be "invaded". there is a long list that includes beds, workbenches, fire sources and etc.
so one way to prevent it is not to have them in one place while building (it can be hard though).

also they don't happen that often. a bit less then once per hour usually.

and if you're not against mods you can install... ehm. i think it's named custom raids or better raids.. or something similar. with it you can disable all events.

I love the base-building aspect of the game. Last week I'd finally had enough with the annoyance of invasions, and just used the console to reset the appropriate keys/flags that enable them. No more invasions, except for the "Eikthyr rallies the forest" one, but that's just a few boars and neks. They feed my trained wolves.

First time I've ever used the console (never use mods). Made a huge difference in my enjoyment of the game, gotta say.

if you use console you can always type "stopevent " to stop whats curently invading you.
also "ghost" (which makes enemies ignore you) may help too.

A possible solution would be to use the developers console, usually opened with the F5 key after enabling it in Steam's game launch options for the game. You'll have to look up how to do that though as it is more that I want to type at the moment, its easy just buiried in a Steam sub menu.

Anywya, using the devs console you open it when an event starts and type in 'devcommands' and the 'stopevent' command. it ends the event right then,

There is a mod available at https://www.nexusmods.com/valheim/mods/1507 that disables the events.

If you don't use mods then there really isn't anything you can do about them other than the console windows as they a part of the games core programming and can't be disabled permenantly without a mod.

Hope this is useful. o7

Build defenses. Wood pikes, walls, moats. And go outside and fight them when they come.

After defeating Bonemass and before Moder just now, I had an event happen I wasn't even aware of.

"A Smell of Sulfur in the Air..."

Was pretty interesting! Also the resources from it were great to get at that moment because I was doing a lot of smelting.

Now that I've defeated Moder, though.. I am not looking forward to the Horde event.

imagine building a "build" that took you suppose 10 hours in debugmode(free resources+flying+all recipees unlocked. build all you want without distractions)

then imagine doing the same, but you also have to grind for resources (especially wood and stone) and run back and forth cuz your inventory is limited to 450 weight. which is 3-4 stacks only. and if grinding isn't your thing or you don't have slaves - then it'll increase the build time considerably. without adding anything to the enjoyment of a process.

also some things (like candelabres) are impossible without console.

so i suppose one shouldn't feel anything special cuz he used "cheats" to do thing he likes and not do thing he doesn't like. everyone plays like he want. it's not a competitive game.

How do you feel for judging someone doing something that literally has nothing to do with you?
