I don't know. He's a decent place to level up your bow skill early. You can get him to fell trees while you fight him too. So he pays back the arrows he uses and then some. I admit the skill isn't necessary, but I'm doing an iron man run, so the bonus too draw speed early on helps with some tricky encounters. Like trolls in caves.

Yeah, but you don't need spare picks or spare trophies and there are more interesting things to fight than the first boss. You don't have to farm it for anything.

I like to decorate my bases with boss trophies. Especially this one looks pretty nice. Sue me.

Bonemass spawns in the air and drops too. Someone else built a roof over the altar to keep rain out and BM got stuck up there. I think bosses normally spawn that way but we don't always catch them in the act. I have seen normal deer dropping while spawning in occasionally too. Probably prevents them from accidentally spawning under or inside the terrain.

The boars/deer spawning in the air is pretty funny, that being said I've never seen it with the first 2 bosses. I'll pay more attention next time.

5,6, or even 10 sure but farming 30 or 40? There are other decorations in the game and some of them are even cooler (and harder to get too if you are looking for a sense of accomplishment.)
