Don't log out in a boat multiplayer.

Solo the boat comes to a dead stop when you jump in the water. So jump in the water and swim to the ladder before you log out.

Logging in is funny since you are seated and stand up when you come back in the water.

Learned to not log out on a boat while playing solo the hard way — two times I tried that, the boat remained where it was, but upon logging back in I got ported to the "nearest" bed set as my spawn point.
Both times it happened during the exploration voyage/ore runs across the map.

Set a marker at your location before logging out — for the recovery mission.

Yeah, dont log out while sailing....wish it had warned me that first time.
