Wolf and Fuling Raids Not Fair to New players or players who aren’t hardcore gamers

I just need to say some stuff about the new raid events.
First off, I thought the wolf event only occurred in the mountain biome but I had this event happen TWO times in half an hour in the plains and during the one event I killed 22 wolves. I’ve killed wolves, but haven’t defeated Bonemass.

These two events happened in a group world on a dedicated server where everybody is at different levels and enjoys doing different things. Some people enjoy building and exploring and don’t want to be worried about mobs attacking when you’re not even in a dangerous biome or interested in defeating bosses.

Second, letting fulings attack in the meadows, which is supposed to be a relatively safe biome? I really don’t like the idea of going around getting supplies and getting attacked by fulings in the meadows, and not even in range of my base where I can get some shelter.

On the group server, there are kids that play sometimes too and they can’t be expected to deal with huge mobs from the mountains and plains every half hour in the meadows.

If this is how the game is going to be from now on, then everyone on our group server isn’t going to enjoy playing anymore. And I think that would be a real shame.

I get that the Black Forest is more dangerous than the meadows which is all good but the meadows shouldn’t be flooded with wolves and fulings, especially not on the group server where none of the bosses have been defeated and never will be due to everyone being at different levels.

This has nothing to do with beeing a fanboy. This game is made for SP and Coop - its not an MMO. So its not a design flaw - its just how the game is meant to be and meant to be played. If you want to play this game in a way its not meant to be played - like an mmo - get another game or use mods if there are any.

You can play any game in ways that its not meant to be played - and thats okay - but that doesnt mean that the game is flawed because it isnt made to be played that way.

The whole game is designed with coop and sp in mind. Progression is not user-based - ressources are not spread with a big ammount of players in mind - players arent even spread out at the start - i also doubt that the netcode etc. is made in a way that would really support bigger ammounts of players. Some people seem to buy games taking their own ideas of what the game should look like as basis instead of what the game actually is. I also dont always play games the way they are meant to be played by using tons of mods - but i do realize that problems that will appear due to that arent flaws of the game itself (balancing, bugs etc.).

two times in a half hour means you have mods that change raids
raids occur once every 46min (and there is 20% for raid)

so getting them under 30min means mod (and since there is mod... it could raise 20% to higher number too)

it's nothing new
and since you already killed yagluth (the fuling boss), fulings pose totally no threat, no matter the biome you are in

no idea where you got "mountains-only" idea, but it was always mountains+plains
simply devs finally fixed this old bug that prevented it from spawning

If the raids aren't player oriented to make sure the individual player is at the correct level of progression then that really needs to be changed. I noticed that when my son decided to join my server (for a single session no less) and I had not even defeated Bonemass but he had on a separate game he played with his own friends I started getting the undead raids.

If that's how this works it needs to be addressed because you cannot assume everyone on a server has access to the same materials. It also should not hit them with raid levels that they are in no way prepared for. That's a design flaw.

Is the Fuling raid linked to Yagluth? As in, once you beat him the raids stop, like the Ice Drakes and Draugr for their respective area bosses. (not referring to the kill squad that can spawn on the player after killing Yagluth, at night)

actually it's not design flaw
everyone on server has access to the same resources -> it's coop... just get them from other players, it's reality
if you play server modded for pvp/competitive/whatever non-coop then just tell host to get mod that turns server into this mode (default is coop and game is wrapped around this)

the raids are world-bound
boss/mob is killed on world = this world unlocks raids
it doesn't save anything on player file so you can just go to world where boss wasn't killed and raid is locked then

you can use commands to make world forget that you killed boss/mob, this will reset raids to 0 (aka only boar/neck raid can occur)

yes
yagluth (fuling) raid stops attacking once you kill yagluth

whoever manages this page updates it quickly
as soon as the update dropped he updated info there, why people ignore it?

Maybe you guys shouldn't all be playing on the same server when you're all doing different things at different levels?

The people with the same goals should posse up and be in their own servers.

Or play solo, and do everything at your own pace.

Love the people fanboying so hard over the devs, that theyre willing to suggest the game should just be singleplayer, instead of having the devs fix obviously broken game design.

i just finished playing with friends for like 5 hours in that 5 hours i was the only one that got raided at all. (first to connect to the server for the session too)

Definitely feels like the raid system is targeting one player

it checks all players and then select randomly one who is valid

every half hour ? thats so really bad luck , theres is people that play hours and dont get any attack event , and wolves attack only happens in mountains and plains biomes withouth a base so can be attacked everywhere there , but not in the meadows
fulings raid happen if u already defeat moder , if yagluth is defeated only will spawns fulings at night in the meadows but not their raid attack , and the mobs night spawn is part of the game progression

this has never occured for me in 755 hours.
you surely must be close to those bioms so the only time I get attacked by out of biom badies is if i am near their territory.

with the last patch 2 days ago wolfs and fulings raids are possible
my comment above are the requeriments for these raids , and fulings spawns at night in the meadows if u defeat the last boss , so is an end game thing

Yeah, the wolf one is actually a pain especially when you don't know it exist as a new player.
You can get good stuff and raw meat from it but being attacked by 5 wolves at most without bonemass with just max iron stuff is a pain to deal with.

I think the attacks are a great part of the game cause it forces them too to explore some bits of defense and equipment usage, what should be tone down is where these attacks can happen. (Like for example, kids who just like to build with poor gear should not be attacked by furlings or wolves, or even blobs/slimes)

The games meant to be played co-op, not groups of people running off doing their own thing at different stages. This isn't Rust. Events are based on server progression.
Fulings only show up in other biomes at night if the last boss has been beaten, and it's been this way the entire time.
None of this is likely to change as Devs have stated this is the intention.
