Makes this game VR please

Hope Im not on my own here. I have 0 interest in the current flat version but if it ever comes to VR, I think it could be a blast playing it.

You can play it in VR with VorpX already. Use the generic Unity profile in the Local Profiles. It's not native, obviously, but it's entirely playable.

I would also LOVE an official port.

No way you can play this in vr with it's current optimization. You need a bare minimum op CONSTANT 90hfps, ideally 120fps in vr @real 4K. 4096x23..

I hate to break it to you but I do play it in VR with VorpX. And all I'm using is a GTX980ti.

I got roughly constant 100fps with my mid end rig, but in fact you won't need it. 45fps are enough (especially for a 3rd person game) with reprojection / spacewarp and such and if you are not getting easily vr sick.

Never really liked Vorpx when trying to play games in full VR. They always look incredible low res. The immersive screen option is nice though.

This would be insanely cool with native VR support. Imagine shooting arrows, building stuff, entering giant Norse halls that are well-lit by the heartfire.

There are now several user-created VorpX profiles. It's not native, but it looks pretty damn good, with plenty of 3D effects.

Just tried the PD profile, but for some reason I couldn't get the mouse clicks to register in the main menu so I stalled there. As ever VorpX can be very straight forward, and then suddenly you hit a brick wall and there's no real support for when things go wrong.

how does it run in VorpX? i was disappointed with most of the games i tested with VorpX (surprisingly, the best game performance i found was Grim Dawn, which wouldn't be the first game i would think of playing in VR, but actually plays really sweet).
i tried running Valheim with this: https://www.notion.so/How-To-Force-Any-Unity-Game-to-Run-In-Native-VR-Mode-cf8c50f66f2740d5b692db786a8386a1
It launches into VR mode, but as this method claims, the UI doesn't show in the headset. Main menu looks fine (you can see your character standing in the woods and look around), you can peek under the headset at the monitor to start the game, but when the game loads the VR camera is like, miles away from the player hovering in a random spot.
there is this camera reparent mod: https://github.com/Raicuparta/unity-vr-camera-reparent
however, even though melonloader says it installs correctly, launching Valheim doesn't launch melonloader and I can't seem to figure out why.
So basically: you can force native Unity VR mode with this mod, but the camera's broken (same thing with SkaterXL, game launches but then the camera is 100 feet over the player's head, otherwise everything else works, controls, etc.)

Just my two cents. I have to pull the vorpx installer off my old computer (cause i never really used it) but lately i'm more curious about trying to run Unity games using this native "force VR" tweak. If anyone wants to take a stab at it and see if they can get melonloader to launch properly, the camera mods might fix it (otherwise if anyone knows how to tweak the camera settings using UABE (https://github.com/DerPopo/UABE/releases/tag/2.2stabled) let me know so i can take a stab at it.)

100%!!!!

I played over 100 hours in Subnautica, The Forest and No Mans Sky, all in VR. All I can think about while playing Valheim is how good it would also be in VR.

To the point I would pay for the game again just to get it in VR.....please make this happen!!!

How do you figure, with VR user numbers going up every year? I'll grant that entirely too many people fall for Facebook's trap and buy Oculus but that doesn't mean VR is dead by any stretch of the imagination.
