How does one "accidentally" travel in mistlands?

Anytime you are scouting with a boat or traveling around for a future base / boss fight always make sure that you have a portal with you that can be used to connect back to your base. When you make landfall and set up said portal you can destroy the boat and store back at your base.

Anytime you arrive a new island, make a portal immediately. You don't have to build a base or anything crazy right away. Just bench>portal, that's it. You can then travel over to the boss and build out your base, moving your shore portal over a little later when things are safe. I know that's Monday morning QB'ing considering the position you're currently in, but it's good practice. It might be time to call in a friend to help you out.

I think all of us....well most of us....learn this the hard way when we start playing xD. Touch land portal first do crap later.

There are regions in the biome that are uncovered by the mist. Might also have accidentally dipped toes in the biome while on the edge of biome like Plains which sometimes experiences dense fog of its own.

Have you put a teleporter nearby? close by that isn’t misslands or swamps?

Look up the Body Recovery Squad. They exist to help players in your situation.

Needs portal network. Rip out the eyes of some graybeards and build the teleportation network. Also you will want blunt damage for bonemass. Clear a path to a nearby surtling flame if you can. Extra damage, though not as much as against an abomination.

as a solo player i had same issue I went somewhere by accident and couldnt get my stuff back. There is a mod, it adds what should be an option in settings, you can keep everything, or just hot bar items, or if you know names of everything type in specific item names to keep.

im not great player and stop playing games when they get to tough, why settings should be a requirement of all games to let anyone of any skill enjoy the game. those with skills can keep it hard those with less can go normal and those who just like building can build safely.

Build a portal that is safe close by, eat your best food, and use bonemass.

Craft stamina and health potions, get the best food you can make.
