Wolf healing system

Hey guys,

I'm a little confused by the wolves healing system, I understand the basic as in, give them raw meat and they will heal (if they are hungry). Sometime they will heal for 100/200 points, sometime only 18, and sometime nothing at all.

For a few seconds the passive heal will give them 0.1 per seconds, sometime 2 and sometime 6.

Is this normal ?

My experience is, if the wolf was just hurt in a fight and I fed it the wolf heals at around .1 rate. If my wolfs were hurt fighting at night outside my base and I checked on them the next day and fed them they heal back to 100% quickly. It appears that if they are hurt and hungry the healing clock starts, but the healing does not take effect until you feed them and then the healing % catches up with the healing clock.

From personal experience, it seems that when newly tamed wolves are fed, they heal in small increments. More veteran tamed wolves heal to full when fed.

Same goes for tamed Lox.

I know food can effect taming, not sure on healing.
Throwing lox meat at wolves made green hearts and seemed to tame faster.
I don't know about the healing though if different foods have different effects, but I would assume they would. Haven't tried any taming since the changes.

If the tamed creature is hungry, it will not regen health. This is a change.

The wolf companion is great, but you have to leave it at home if you want it to heal up.
Doesn't see to be a good implementation/ I'd be happy to have to feed him something like I feed myself to have a regen ongoing.

As it is I take him to a big fight then I cannot really use him for a long while if I wnat him to heal up completely.

It depends on what they define as "home"... if it is the minimum three items for events to happen you could set that up anyplace fairly quickly.

One other thing with regen numbers ... I know for the player it can show some crazy stuff but it seems to come down to when the number "ticks".... for example if you get in comfort range and feel comfort you get a bonus regen... the first "tick" shown may be very large but that is due to it starting to show between "ticks" ... so the first number may be exaggerated from what it "should" be since it may include a portion of a previous "tick".
